Angelina Jolie Closes On Cecile B. DeMille Estate Amid Brad Pitt Dating Rumors

Angelina Jolie is the proud new owner of the historic Cecile B. DeMille estate in Los Feliz, California.

According to a new report, the actress, who celebrated her 42nd birthday over the weekend, officially purchased the 11,000-square-foot home.

“The house, built in 1913 and since restored, is 11,000 square feet and includes six bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and four fireplaces, including one in the master bedroom,” the Hollywood Reporter revealed to readers on June 5. “The remodeled kitchen includes an island.”

Angelina Jolie was first linked to the home, which DeMille lived in for about 40 years, earlier this year but it wasn’t until this week when the sale was reportedly made final.

“The property, which measures more than two acres, also features formal gardens, a guest house, a pool house and a swimming pool with cascading fountains. It also has views of the city and the ocean,” the outlet continued.

Angelina Jolie moved into a rental home in Malibu, California, with her six children, 15-year-old Maddox, 13-year-old Pax, 12-year-old Zahara, 11-year-old Shiloh, and 8-year-old twins, Vivienne and Knox, after splitting from her now-estranged husband, Brad Pitt, in September of last year. Meanwhile, Pitt began living with a friend in Santa Monica before returning to their former marital home in Los Feliz.

“It was too sad to be [home] at first, so I went and stayed on a friend’s floor, a little bungalow in Santa Monica,” Pitt revealed during an interview with GQ magazine. “I crashed over here a little bit, my friend [David] Fincher lives right here. He’s always going to have an open door for me, and I was doing a lot of stuff on the Westside, so I stayed at my friend’s house on the floor for a month and a half.”

Angelina Jolie and her kids spent several months in Malibu before the actress ultimately put in an offer of $24.5 million on the Cecile B. DeMille estate.

According to the Hollywood Reporter‘s article, DeMille lived in the home until his death in 1959. From there, his family took ownership of the estate and ultimately sold the home in 1988. It was then placed back on the market in March of this year and Angelina Jolie quickly took an interest.

In a second report shared by the Los Angeles Times, it is revealed that the home, which was built for DeMille in 1913, has been restored and renovated in the years since it was originally constructed and includes several modern upgrades in addition to many vintage features.

“Details include delicate molding and wainscoting, scaled formal areas and arched French doors,” the outlet noted.

Brett Lawyer and Rayni Williams of Hilton & Hyland were the listing agents of the property.

Following the first round of reports regarding Angelina Jolie and her new home, a source spoke out claiming that Brad Pitt was thrilled to hear that his kids would soon be much closer to their former home.

“Brad is very hopeful that [Angelina Jolie] will buy a house close to their original home in Los Felix,” an insider revealed to Hollywood Life last month. “Ideally the house would be walking distance from his home. Brad and Angelina both agree that living close to each other would make the transition easier for the kids.”

News of Angelina Jolie’s home purchase comes a short time after rumors began swirling in regards to Brad Pitt having possibly moved on from their relationship. In the months since the couple split, Pitt has been linked to a number of actresses, including Sienna Miller, Margot Robbie, and Kate Hudson. He’s even been linked to his former wife, Jennifer Aniston. That said, he has yet to go public with anyone new and remains dedicated to his kids.
