Oreo Cookie Contest ‘My Oreo Creation’ Wants To Make You Half A Million Dollars Richer — Here’s How To Enter

It’s been called “Milk’s Favorite Cookie” in campaigns and now the Oreo cookie is about to make someone $500,000. or half a million dollars richer. Launching the My Oreo Creation contest, Nabisco, under Mondel?z International, announced the cookie contest where fans will submit their own Oreo cookie flavors. The grand prize is half a million dollars coupled with the creation of their very own Oreo flavor cookie. There are four ways to enter the contest and users can submit one unique entry featuring their Oreo cookie flavor each day. Submissions are accepted until July 14, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Judging begins on July 15, 2017, at 12 a.m. ET and concludes on August 15, 2017.

According to the official rules, there will be three finalists selected and Nabisco will create all three finalists’ Oreo cookies and they will be sold on store shelves. Fans will select one of the three finalists to be the grand prize winner. Here are the prizes according to the rules.

“One (1) lucky Grand Prize Winner will receive a $500,000 check and a trip package to New York City, NY featuring roundtrip airfare for two (2) and a four (4) day/three (3) night hotel stay. ARV: $504,660.”

“Three (3) flavorful finalists will receive a $25,000 check and the opportunity to have an OREO® cookie creation produced and available in market for a limited time. ARV: $25,000.”

The My Oreo Creation press release further explained how the grand prize winner will be selected.

“Eligible fans who share their #MyOreoCreation #Contest ideas will be entered for a chance to be one of three Finalists who will win $25,000 each and see their idea on select retail shelves nationwide in May 2018, complete with an on-pack shout-out. The Grand Prize Winner will be chosen via fan vote in July 2018, and will win $500,000 and unprecedented fan access to OREO creations. As part of the never-been-done-before tasting experience the Grand Prize Winner will get the chance to taste unreleased OREO products, including both those with future launch dates as well as creations still in the prototype phase.”

As news of the My Oreo Creation contest spread across social media networks, cookie fans were delighted. Instagram and Twitter have been abuzz with flavorful suggestions and actress Ellie Kemper has created a PSA for the contest. My Oreo Creation Contest: How To Enter

There are four ways to enter the My Oreo Creation contest. First, you may visit the official contest website and manually enter your submission. There is no purchase necessary, but you’ll need to create an account, register, and agree to receive some contest related emails. You’ll also need to be 18 or older in order to participate.

You can also text your ideas and flavorful submissions to 59526. Message and data rates will apply. You can read the fine print regarding entering via text message at the official rules site.

The third way to enter the My Oreo Creation contest is based on social media networks and uses two hashtags. This provides a dual purpose as it’s a creative and fun way to share ideas, while also spreading the word about the contest through networks like Twitter and Instagram. To enter, simply share a photo, video, or text featuring your Oreo cookie flavor and use the hashtags #MyOreoCreation and #Contest.

The fourth and final way to enter the contest is to simply respond to an official Oreo post on social media with your idea and the hashtags #MyOreoCreation and #Contest.

Oreo brand manager, Madeline Vincent, also discussed the launch of the contest in the official press release She explained that with the new, limited Firework Oreo cookie, they thought fans could come up with more innovative ideas. Vincent stated the following.

“Our newest limited edition flavor got us thinking – if we can create a Firework OREO cookie, what else could we create? And who better to ask than those who are already sharing their flavor and creation ideas. We’ve always loved hearing and seeing our fans’ ideas and now we’re thrilled to merge that passion and creativity with OREO innovation to come up with future OREO Wonder Vault creations.”
