Little Mix Slammed For Performing ‘Half Naked’ During Charity Concert

Little Mix are feeling the heat from fans after donning skimpy stage outfits during their performance at Ariana Grande’s “One Love Manchester” benefit concert on June 4.

While other acts who took the stage, including Ariana, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and many more, opted to wear more demure outfits for their performances, the Little Mix girls hit the stage wearing more risqué outfits that included pleather bodysuits and bra tops.

Social media users flocked to Twitter to call out the girl band – made up of Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall – claiming that the British band were dressed totally “inappropriately” for the sombre occasion that aimed to raise money for the victims of the May 22 bombing that took place shortly after Grande’s concert at Manchester Arena.

“[I] think Little Mix’s outfits are so inappropriate #OneLoveManchester,” @Lozwoz21 wrote of the band’s stage attire, as @LBraithwaite94 concurred, “Did no one tell Little Mix about the dress code, really inappropriate for this event sorry but true #OneLoveManchester.”

Others slammed the singers for hitting the stage “half naked” compared to some of the other outfits donned by the benefit’s performers.

“Really don’t see why Little Mix feel the need to be half naked while performing when Ariana is in a[n] oversized baggy jumper?” @vibrantics wrote on the social media site, while @DahBieberWorld slammed the band for their lack of respect for the victims and their families over their skimpy outfits.

“Little Mix should be ashamed of themselves. Coming out on stage half naked like that!” @DJLee246 wrote.

But while some fans were quick to call out the band for appearing “half naked” on stage in Manchester, others defended the “No More Sad Songs” singers and pointed out that the focus should be on their appearance at the benefit and not their controversial outfit choices.

“They can dress how they like! Focusing on trivial things like this, that’s what tonight’s NOT about….” Little Mix fan @DaveyGR responded to the criticism the girl band got for their clothing choices.

“Little Mix perform for the people who died and peoples response is ‘omg they are wearing inappropriate clothing,'” @TristanDeane added of those slamming the girls for appearing “half naked, adding, “Grow up man.”

Little Mix haven’t responded to the wave of comments claiming their clothing choices for the benefit were “inappropriate,” though this certainly isn’t the first time the girls have been called out for the skimpy outfit choices.

Last year, the “Shout Out To My Ex” singers were seriously slammed for their costume choices once again during a performance on The X Factor in the U.K., where some viewers complained that their skin-baring ensembles made the band look like “strippers” and “prostitutes” as they sung on the family show.

But while the girls haven’t responded to the latest round of criticism, they have made it known in the past, they’re not afraid to show off some skin and won’t be covering up just because of the haters on social media.

Speaking out about their raunchy performance outfits last year, Jesy Nelson made it clear that the band will continue to dress however they please during an appearance on Britain’s The One Show and hit back at those claiming they show too much skin on stage with the nearly naked costumes.

“I think it’s nice that we are four young girls who are confident in our bodies and want to go out there and rock it,” Jesy said when asked about the criticism Little Mix face for showing some skin, according to Digital Spy.

Adding that their fashion has “evolved” since they first shot to fame after winning The X Factor in 2011,” Leigh-Anne added, “We are more daring and more confident in ourselves – and I think that’s a good thing, no?”

What do you think of viewers slamming Little Mix for their “half naked” skimpy stage outfits during the “One Love Manchester” benefit concert? Were they dressed inappropriately for the event?
