‘The Bachelor’s Lauren Bushnell On Life After Split From Ben Higgins, Pursuing A Blogging Career In L.A.

Lauren Bushnell has no interest in starring on another reality TV show soon. In a new interview, the former Bachelor contestant opened up about her life after her split with Ben Higgins, as well as her plans to move back to L.A. to pursue her blogging career.

TMZ caught up with The Bachelor Season 20 winner Lauren Bushnell at the L.A. International airport early this week. When asked about what’s next for her following her split with Ben Higgins, the former flight attendant admitted that she still has no definite plan as to where her career is heading. Bushnell shared that as of the moment, she’s focusing all her attention on her lifestyle blog, Sparkle in her Eye.

“You could say [I’m getting back to normal]. I’m trying, I’m trying. I’m looking for an apartment [in Los Angeles]. I used to live in L.A. before I moved to Denver, so I’m moving back to L.A. I’m going to work on my blog, fashion, I don’t know — whatever comes my way. I’m just trying to take it day by day,” she shared.

While it seemed like her ex-fiance Ben Higgins has already moved on — the Bachelor star was rumored to be dating Ashley Iaconetti — Lauren Bushnell said that she’s not ready to dip her toe back into the dating pool just yet. Contrary to early reports, Bushnell said that she won’t be heading to Bachelor in Paradise anytime soon.

“I’m just trying to recover and move forward. I’m not open to dating anyone at this point to be honest. I need a second to calm down, breathe,” she explained.

In May, Lauren Bushnell and Ben Higgins confirmed that they have called off their engagement after being together for less than a year. In a joint statement issued to People, the former Bachelor couple said that they will continue to remain friends, who have nothing but respect and love for one another. They also asked support and understanding from Bachelor Nation fans during this trying time.

Meanwhile, Ben Higgins is keeping himself busy working on his new podcast with Bachelor Nation star Ashley Iaconetti. During the duo’s first episode, via E! News, Higgins talked about his inevitable split with Lauren Bushnell. The Bachelor star admitted that there were telltale signs that the relationship is simply not working out.

“I would say the joy that we felt toward our relationship at the beginning was—for some reason—slipping away, and we were both working very hard to bring that joy back. And it just never seemed to get there. So it was a long time coming but it wasn’t necessarily like we dragged it out,” he explained.

Just like Bushnell, Higgins said that he’s also “feeling lost and confused” as of the moment. He admitted that it was very difficult to say goodbye to someone whom he thought he was going to share the rest of his life with. According to him, he really believed that Bushnell was the one for him.

However, in the end, Higgins claimed that the breakup was beneficial to both parties. The Bachelor star added that he’s not open to dating just yet, adding that it will be odd to look for Bushnell’s replacement this soon.

“I am a better man today because of Lauren and because of our relationship than I was two years ago,” he said.

Sources close to the former Bachelor couple told E! News that no one was surprised when they announced the split. Their friends, especially Bushnell’s, were allegedly expecting the breakup, especially given how different the two were. The insider added that Bushnell and Higgins were also under immense pressure to keep a facade just to make their fans happy, which ultimately led to the couple calling it quits.

“They felt pressure to make things seem better than they were and fought more than either let on,” the insider added.
