Prince Harry Joins Muslim Youths As They Break Their Ramadan Fast, Meghan Markle Not Present

Prince Harry is currently on a two-day trip to Singapore. On Sunday, June 4, the British royal reportedly joined around 80 Muslim youths as they broke their Ramadan fast. Suits actress Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s girlfriend, is not accompanying him on this trip.

During the first day of his trip, Prince Harry visited the headquarters of Jamiyah Singapore, a Muslim-faith led community center. Channel News Asia reported that at sunset, he joined Muslim youths, who were breaking their Ramadan fast, and ate with them a simple dish of dates and porridge.

Prince Harry and others also remembered the families of the seven people who were killed during the recent London attack. The Telegraph reported that Muhammad Rafiuddin Ismail, secretary-general of Jamiyah, said minutes before it was time to perform prayers and break the fast, “Our thoughts go out to the families of the victims of the London terror attack last night [Saturday]. Let peace and harmony prevail in communities all over the world.”

Prince Harry was seen listening with his head bowed. Later, he reportedly joined guests at other tables and talked with them about the celebration.

Earlier in the day on Sunday, Prince Harry attended the Action for AIDS event, where he learned about the HIV and AIDS issues in Singapore. He was given a tour of a mobile HIV testing van as well.

The 32-year-old Prince is set to wrap up his first visit to Singapore after attending the Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Cup on Monday, June 5. The Polo Cup is an annual fundraising event that raises money for Prince Harry’s charity Sentebale, which supports children and young people affected by HIV in Lesotho and Botswana in southern Africa.

After his two-day Singapore trip, Prince Harry will fly off to Sydney, Australia. On Wednesday, June 7, he is set to officially launch the countdown to the Invictus Games 2018, which will take place from October 20 to October 27, 2018, in Sydney. An international sporting event for wounded, sick, and injured servicemen and women, Invictus Games is the brainchild of Prince Harry. He reportedly decided to start the games after serving as an Apache pilot in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle is unlikely to join the British Prince in Australia as well because of Suits Season 7, which premieres in July. She is likely to be busy filming and promoting the new season of the legal drama series.

The American actress reportedly first met Prince Harry when he was in Toronto, Canada, last year to launch the Invictus Games 2017, which will open on September 23. The filming of Suits takes place in Toronto. Markus Anderson apparently played the matchmaker and introduced the American actress to the British Prince, who is the fifth in line to inherit the British throne.

In November of the last year, Kensington Palace confirmed that Prince Harry was in a relationship with Meghan Markle. It is likely that the Prince and the Suits actress might get engaged before Invictus Games 2018 in Sydney and attend the event as fiance and fiancee.

There are rumors that Prince Harry intends to propose to his girlfriend by the end of the year. The Daily Star recently reported that the 35-year-old actress might get engaged to the British Prince during their African safari trip.

The report quoted a source as saying that Africa meant everything to Prince Harry.

“It is where he [Harry] and William were taken by their father to escape after their mother’s death. He feels himself there, and it was the South African jewellery he gave to Meghan that first gave their relationship away. Prince William proposed to Kate there.”

Meghan Markle was recently in London to attend the wedding reception of Kate Middleton’s sister, Pippa Middleton. As the actress did not attend Pippa’s Church wedding, Prince Harry apparently made a 160-kilometer round trip to pick up his girlfriend from London for the evening reception.
