Mackenzie Standifer Goes On A Social Media Blackout As Her Husband Enters Rehab

It was reported that Teen Mom OG dad, Ryan Edwards, checked into rehab this weekend, and additionally that he and fiancee, Mackenzie Standifer, tied the knot in preparation for the event. Although some worried that Mackenzie and Ryan might call off their wedding due to his issues, it seems the pair have decided to get things over and done with so they could move on with their lives.

According to Starcasm, the couple were wed on May 15 but kept it a secret. Some theorize that it was kept on the down-low because they are currently filming Teen Mom OG and the crew wanted the wedding to be a surprise to viewers. The couple’s wedding was confirmed by court documents obtained by the website. The pair had originally planned to wed in November.

It was recently reported that Ryan was suffering from issues stemming from alcohol abuse, which Maci Bookout, Ryan’s ex, discussed in the most recent episode of Teen Mom OG. The reality star broke down, telling the other girls on the show that she was “legitimately afraid” for Ryan’s life and that she felt he deserved to be loved. She also confessed she was worried that he might accidentally die in the process, leaving her son without a father.

Amber Portwood, a former drug addict and cast member of Teen Mom OG told Maci that she had noticed a problem a while ago when watching the show.

“Ryan’s f**ked up. I watch it, I see it, I know it. Where he’s at right now, when I see him, I know where he’s at and I’m like, ‘Wow, he needs some guidance,'” she told Maci during their group vacation to Puerto Rico.

Mackenzie Standifer responded to the claims that Ryan is doing drugs with a few cryptic tweets, including those talking about taking refuge in the Lord. She also asked that people pray for them instead of making assumptions about what was going on in their lives.

She also made a statement toThe Ashley’s Reality Roundup about her husband’s addiction.

“Let them wonder, let them assume, and then let them eat cake. I don’t feel like I need to defend myself to viewers. When they walk in my shoes or pay my bills, then maybe. But I have absolutely no respect for individuals who choose to put everyone else down,” she said.

Although Mackenzie Standifer has been making a few tweets that suggest there is a problem going on in her life, she has now gone a complete social media blackout. The young mother of one has shut down her Twitter and her Instagram, ensuring that it is private. Likely, she was tired of magazines and media outlets creating stories about her after she tweeted or posted a photo.

She may have also been tired of receiving comments about Ryan, recently clapping back at a fan who asked her if she was ready to spend the rest of her life worried about Ryan.

“Well I am ready to spend the rest of my life not worrying about ignorant comments,” she told the poster. Yikes.

Mackenzie Standifer has previously come out to say that she doesn’t appreciate the way the show edits her and Ryan and that at times, they make them appear in a bad light. She took to Twitter earlier this year to express her annoyance at the pair being made to look irresponsible for being five minutes late to a Halloween party with Ryan and Maci’s son, Bentley.

Ryan Edwards and his family have yet to make a statement about what is going on with their son. Jen Edwards, Ryan’s mother, had said at one point that she did have a story to tell, but it would be told at some point, just not right away.
