‘Star Trek Into Darkess’ Japanese Trailer Has Jaw-Dropping Bonus Scene [Video]

The Star Trek Into Darkness teaser has finally landed, but a savvy internet search pulls up a slightly longer trailer from Japan. The audio is still in English, all you get is a longer teaser trailer with Japanese subtitles.

I’ll take it. Thank you, internet.

Here’s the synopsis for Star Trek Into Darkness:

“When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction.

“As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.”

The trailer features great voice-over work by Benedict Cumberbatch (the still-unnamed villain) and gives us a good look at the sexy Alice Eve in a Starfleet uniform, sure to drive the nerds wild. She appears to be some sort of love interest for Chris Pine’s Kirk, we don’t really know.

In any case, this Japanese Star Trek Into Darkness trailer has roughly 12 seconds of extra footage. That may not sound like much, but the final few seconds contain a VERY Wrath of Khan-esque scene, certain to get everyone buzzing.
