Josh Duggar Celebrates Son’s Birthday With Whole Family, Will He Appear On ‘Counting On’ Season 3?

Josh Duggar is back! In a rare instance, the Duggar family uploaded a photo of Josh and wife Anna while celebrating their son Marcus’ birthday at the family home on Friday. Does this mean fans will be seeing more of Josh in the new season of Counting On?

Josh and Anna threw a party in honor of their son Marcus, who recently turned 4-years-old. The Duggars’ official social media accounts shared tons of photos of the kiddie party and even included a picture of Josh and Anna.

“Happy birthday to our fun-loving Marcus! You are a treasure! We love you, sweet boy!”

The birthday boy was snapped happily opening gifts and playing with his siblings and other relatives. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar were smiling from ear to ear as they posed with their grandson. However, there was no sign of Josh’s sisters Jill, Jessa, Jinger, and Joy-Anna.

This is the first time in a long while that Josh and Anna were heavily featured on any of the Duggars’ public albums. The couple has been staying away from the spotlight since Josh’s molestation scandal two years ago.

Since then, Josh was notably absent in the family’s big occasions, such as the births of Jill’s and Jessa’s children. When Jinger got married to Jeremy Vuolo in 2016, the wedding was made into a special for Counting On. Josh was present at the event, but his footages were specifically edited out.

Meanwhile, many fans were asking if Josh and Anna were invited to Joy-Anna’s wedding last May 26. The family posted many photos and videos of the latest Duggar wedding, and the two were nowhere in sight.

However, the Facebook fan page The Duggar family blog confirmed that Josh and Anna were indeed in attendance. There’s even a picture of Anna wearing navy blue, the wedding’s motif. Joy and Austin’s wedding will be shown on the premiere episode of Counting On Season 3, and fans will have to wait and see if Josh will be included in the special.

In 2015, Josh made headlines when he was charged–and later admitted–that he molested girls as a teenager, including his younger sisters Jill and Jessa. Jim Bob and Michelle’s eldest child also confessed that he cheated on wife Anna and was addicted to pornography. His revelations were all the more shocking to the public since the Duggars are known to be conservative Christians.

As a result, TLC immediately canceled the family’s hit series 19 Kids and Counting and Josh went into seclusion at a faith-based rehab. Meanwhile, Jill and Jessa have gone on to making Counting On, a spin-off to 19 Kids and Counting.

Even so, the Duggar family has always stood by Josh’s side throughout the nasty controversy. Jill and Jessa even appeared on Fox News’ Megan Kelly Show to say that they have forgiven their brother and are moving on.

As for Anna, she has also decided to stay with her husband amid divorce rumors. In March, they announced that they are pregnant once again with baby number five.

“For nearly the last two years, we have quietly worked to save our marriage, focus on our children, and rebuild our lives together as a family. Doing so is never easy after a breach of trust…As we continue our journey as a family and rebuild our lives, we are delighted to share with you that we are expecting a new baby boy later this year.”

Josh’s scandal is still relevant even up to this day. Just recently, his sisters filed a lawsuit against Arkansas’ officials and In Touch magazine for releasing and publishing the story back in 2015. Jessa, Jill, Jinger, and Joy-Anna claim that it is unlawful to do this when the victims involved in sex-related cases are minors.

Do you think Josh Duggar should be back on television together with his sisters in Counting On? Season 3 premieres this June 12 on TLC.
