‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Spoilers Season 3, Episode 1: Prisoners [Video]

Fear The Walking Dead returns to AMC this Sunday with Episode 1 of Season 3, titled “Eye of the Beholder.” Even though last season was left with a mild cliffhanger, the story picks up with some rather interesting details and all is not what it seems.

What fans last saw on Fear The Walking Dead was Madison on the trail of Nick to get her family back together. However, what they ran into was a little more than they bargained for. According to TV Guide, the Clark family has to make some drastic decisions in Episode 1 of Season 3 to avoid the wrath of potentially hostile captors.

This is the part of the article where we need to give you one last warning that there are some spoilers coming ahead for Episode 1 of Fear The Walking Dead, titled “Eye of the Beholder.” If you do not wish to have any details of that Fear The Walking Dead episode spoiled for you, then you should only proceed with that caution in mind.

What we do know about Episode 1 of Fear The Walking Dead is that there will be no time wasted reuniting Madison with Nick and his new family of refugees from the previous camp, according to Entertainment Weekly. However, they are brought back together under dire circumstances, as prisoners, and they must work with each other to find a way out of the situation.

Their captors, a man named Jeremiah Otto and his two sons that run a survivalist camp named Broke Jaw Ranch, are quite skilled at what they are doing and they had already prepared for the apocalypse that is still in its infancy as compared to The Walking Dead.

One thing that showrunner Dave Erickson noted about Otto and his sons is that even though they did not know that the dead were going to start walking the earth, they did anticipate the fall of the state and the erosion of democracy that would follow. This, of course, leads fans to believe that they have set up camp with the same intentions as Negan on The Walking Dead — to get a stranglehold on power in the region.

“He’s the king of his domain, and his intention is to create a new nation in his own mold,” Dave Erickson said.

That quote really says it all about Jeremiah Otto and his new role on Fear The Walking Dead in Season 3. Introducing him in Episode 1 really does seem fitting if his character is to break the mold and put the people of the series in jeopardy with their first big bad villain. Fans of Fear The Walking Dead will recognize that Jeremiah Otto was the man who captured Ofelia in Season 2 of Fear The Walking Dead, so his face has already been put out there.

Fans should also know that Nick’s new love interest, Luciana, is also a strong character and her role on Fear The Walking Dead has shown that quite extensively in Season 2. Actress Danay Garcia portrays the character on the show, and she had a few things to say to Dread Central about her entrance in the Walking Dead universe.

“When I got introduced – the love, the unconditional warmth that all the fans had for me, even before seeing my character, even before knowing what she was about – was really incredible,” Danay Garcia told Dread Central. “From that moment forward it really hasn’t stopped being that amazing and I’m so grateful and lucky because here I am in a panel, about to talk about a character that nobody knows, and everybody is so excited about it.”

Of course, she is definitely right about that. Fans of The Walking Dead universe really do have unconditional love for these characters and the people who play them. You can catch Episode 1 of Fear The Walking Dead, “Eye of the Beholder,” this Sunday on AMC.
