‘Little People, Big World’ Scandal: Bakery Associated With Roloff Family Shut Down For Rodent Infestation

The stars of Little People, Big World, the Roloff family, always seem to find themselves in the news, whether for good reasons or for bad ones. Unfortunately, this time around, they’re in the news for all the wrong reasons. It turns out that a bakery associated with the family has been shut down because the health department discovered that there’s a rodent infestation.

That’s the word according to Radar Online, who discovered that Amy Roloff of Little People, Big World was supposed to team up with the bakery to create an online store. Of course, that’s probably not going to happen now thanks to this scandal.

Carrie Ann Schubert, who owns the Beaverton Bakery, has known Amy for a long time. Unfortunately, however, the Oregon health department has less than complimentary things to say about Schubert’s store.

“Health inspectors discovered ‘an active rodent infestation…in an upper storage area of the bakery and rodent activity (droppings, urine) was noted in all areas (cookie, back warehouse, main bakery processing, cake I, cake II, storage area above walk-in cooler, miscellaneous storage room upstairs).'”

The bakery was shut down on May 2, but it reopened just a few days later after undergoing what was reportedly called a “thorough cleaning.” Whether you can get that visual out of your head, however, remains to be seen.

Of course, there’s other bad news coming from the Little People, Big World camp, according to the Hollywood Gossip.

The outlet is reporting that there’s a rivalry brewing between brother Zach Roloff and Jeremy Roloff, though whether it’s a friendly rivalry or not is up for debate.

The two brothers were both expecting babies at the same time, and as fans of the show know, Zach Roloff welcomed a new baby with wife Tori just a few weeks ago.

“Watching the episode, one would think Zach and Jeremy were the very best of friends. One would think these siblings were very tight and got along awfully well. But questions have arose over their relationship, as some fans of this TLC series think a major rivalry is afoot based on which brother will inherit the family farm. And patriarch Matt Roloff appeared to play into this rumored feud on Tuesday night after Jeremy and wife Audrey learned they were having a daughter.”

Let’s hope that this doesn’t devolve any further because the brothers seem to get along very well on the show, and it would be a shame to see the brotherhood split up over a petty business rivalry.

Finally, one of the biggest bits of news making the rounds amongst the Little People, Big World fans has to do with the fact that Zach’s son, Jackson, also is a little person like his father. Many people feel bad for the baby, but according to Romper, there’s nothing to feel bad about, because doing so “stigmatizes” the baby and his condition.

“You have to encourage a dwarf child a little more, because it will take them five steps to do what others can do in two. But I knew, dwarf or not, I was going to parent my child with the mentality that not everyone gets a trophy. You have to earn it. And as for concerned fans? Don’t be: ‘I want people to know that he’s just like his dad: being a dwarf is just part of the whole package of who he is.'”

Fans of the show, now it’s your turn to sound off: What do you think of the latest Little People, Big World news? Do you feel bad for Zach and Tori Roloff’s baby?
