Leona Lewis Attacked at London Book Signing


British singer Leona Lewis was attacked at a book signing for her memoir Dreams earlier today in London.

According to reports Lewis was signing books and posing for pictures at the Waterstone’s bookstore in Piccadilly when a man stepped up and punched her in the head in an unprovoked attack. He was restrained by security guards until police arrived at the scene and arrested him.

“Leona was the victim of an unprovoked attack this afternoon at her book signing” Lewis’ reps said in a statement. “The police were called immediately and medical attention has been sought. Leona is understandably shaken and apologizes to the fans she was unable to meet and complete signings.”

The unnamed 29-year-old man is being held in custody on suspicion of assault. It is not known why he attacked Lewis, and witnesses said that he said nothing before or after attacking her.
