Warning: There are spoilers ahead. If you do not want to know what is coming up on the CW series, then stop reading.
On the last episode of The Originals, Elijah died. Thinking quickly, Freya Mikaelson (Riley Voelkel) put his soul into a pendant. However, that pendant ended up shattering. In a video interview posted on Spoiler TV, Michael Narducci said that Elijah’s psyche is just as shattered as the pendant. Freya will be on a mission to repair her brother, and the rest of the Mikaelson family will work to save him. Also, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) will get the whole family together in an attempt to protect themselves from The Hollow.
“Episode 410 is a pretty special episode, titled ‘Phantomesque’. Not only is it directed by Daniel Gillies, but it really is a study of what, you know, this family is, what the character of Elijah means to this family, both good and bad, and what the family is willing to do to save their brother.”
The Originals executive producer explained that the Mikaelson family doesn’t know if they can bring Elijah back. They don’t even know if they will be able to find him. As Freya says, when the pendant shattered, Elijah’s mind shattered with it. Narducci said that Freya is going to have to use every ounce of her magical ability to get inside of Elijah’s mind and heal his fractured psyche.
“Of course, this is going to force Freya and the audience to confront some of the long history of Elijah as a vampire and some of the good and terrible things that he’s done. News of Elijah’s death has spread all around the world. Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) return to New Orleans, so this begins a storyline of Klaus and Rebekah and Kol stopping at nothing to find out what they need to do to take out revenge on The Hollow.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the synopsis for The Originals Season 4 Episode 11 was released. It teases that Freya will ask Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) to go on a journey. The promo clip reveals that the journey has to do with going inside Elijah’s mind. It is clear from looking at Elijah’s face in the promo clip that he is stuck somewhere in the past, consumed by an old memory. Can Hayley and Freya repair his shattered psyche and bring him home?
“After the devastating events of the previous episode, Klaus requests that his estranged siblings Rebekah and Kol return home to stand by their family against The Hollow. Meanwhile, Freya recruits Hayley for a dangerous journey that will put both their lives at risk – but may be the sole means of saving someone they love. Elsewhere, tensions rise when Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) leads a hunt for The Hollow – putting him on a collision course with the person he was least prepared to face. Finally, as Kol continues to mourn the loss of Davina, he is forced to consider the lengths he’d go to see her again.”
