George & Amal Clooney Baby Names: Potential Choices For Twins

George and Amal Clooney are just around the corner from officially becoming parents. The couple, who wed in Italy in 2014, will be welcoming twins in the next week or so, according to several reports indicating that Mrs. Clooney is due at the beginning of June. Although the Clooneys have chosen not to reveal the sexes of their littles-to-be, it has been widely speculated that they are having a boy and a girl.

The power couple has been laying low in London and are said to be enjoying their last few days as a party of two. They plan on staying in London, where they own an 11,000-square-foot home in Sonning. The home was completely renovated a couple of years ago and is thought to be complete with a nursery big enough for two. The ultra-private home with lush landscapes and views of the Thames River will be the perfect place for the Clooneys to adjust to their new lives.

Just a couple of days ago, George missed an event because he wanted to be sure that he was with his wife in case she went into labor. It’s no secret that these babies are going to be born soon! So, what have the Clooneys decided on for names? That could be one of the best-kept secrets — ever. Chances are, George and Amal aren’t going to share that information with just anyone, so the chances of the media finding out are slim to none. However, there has been some chatter about some possibilities.

Earlier this year, InTouch Weekly reported there is a chance that George and Amal will name one of their children Nicholas if they are blessed with a boy. Nicholas is George’s father’s name.

“He’s been doting on Amal’s every need and talking to her belly. He’s also having a blast coming up with baby names. The name Nicholas — after his dad, Nick Clooney — is a shoo-in for his son. As far as girl names, he’s leaving that up to Amal,” a source told the outlet.

Keeping things traditional, as the classy couple may choose to do, there are a lot of other family names that could be given to either baby Clooney. George’s mother’s name is Nina, while Amal’s mother’s name is Baria. A combination of those two names like Nina Baria might be an option. Amal’s father’s name is Ramzi (it’s also Amal’s middle name), which could be chosen as a baby’s middle name; Nicholas Ramzi Clooney does have a nice ring to it, don’t you think?

Other potential names go further back into the couple’s respective family trees. Clooney’s grandfathers were named Andrew Joseph Clooney and Marvin Jackson Warren. Amal’s grandfather’s name was Khalal while her grandmother’s name was Adele. If any combination of these names were chosen, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise.

However, if George and Amal want to go with something a bit less traditional and a little more cultural, they may choose a Lebanese name (Amal was born in Lebanon). Her siblings, as well as her nieces and nephews, all have names that stem from the Lebanese culture, which has some really beautiful moniker options.

According to Closer Weekly, George will not be naming his kids after his tequila brand, “Casamigos.”

“My wife says I can’t name them Casa and Amigos. That’s the one thing I’m not allowed to do. It was just a thought. I mean, you know, it’s a family business,” he previously said.

What do you think George and Amal Clooney will name their twins? Do you think that the couple will choose something more traditional like a family name?
