Toy Story Land At Disney’s Hollywood Studios: New Logo, Photos Of Slinky Dog Coaster, Opening Date Update

Disney has had their hands full lately with the opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this past weekend, but there is so much more to come. It is known that the Star Wars-themed lands at Walt Disney World and Disneyland will open in 2019, but there is even more. Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios still doesn’t have an opening date, but some info, a new logo, and brand new pictures have now been revealed.

While those other lands have received the majority of the attention, many may seem to forget that Toy Story Land is currently being built at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The 11-acre land has been under construction for around a year and a half, but there is still no official hint as to when it will even open.

However, Disney revealed that the Star Wars-themed lands at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park will open in “2019,” but nothing more specific. Nothing at all has been said about Toy Story Land, but that will change soon, as Disney Dining has revealed the opening date will be announced at the D23 Expo in July.

Scheduled to take place July 14-16 in Anaheim, the opening date for the new land will be announced as Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Bob Chapek stated. While fans wait for that, Hollywood Studios is giving small glimpses and teases to those at the park.

If you’re walking around Hollywood Studios, make sure to head over near One Man’s Dream, where the construction walls for Toy Story Land now have new designs. Included on one of the walls is the brand new logo for the land, which is rumored to be completed by next year.

Not much can be seen over the very high walls, but there have been some aerial shots circulating on Twitter that show part of the Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster in place.

The Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster will be a family attraction, and it will take guests through Andy’s backyard and among numerous other toys.

There is another picture showcasing what appears to be the pad for the Alien Swirling Saucers attraction, which the Disney Parks Blog first revealed last year. “The Claw” isn’t in place yet, but there is still a long way to go.

Along with these two attractions, Toy Story Land will feature merchandise and dining locations that haven’t had a lot of information revealed about them either. We can only hope that the announcement of the opening date at the D23 Expo will include more details on what is to come.

When looking around at what will be the entrance to Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, more iconic characters grace the construction walls.

Woody, the lead character in the Toy Story franchise, tips his hat to all guests looking forward to the new land. The Etch-A-Sketch posing a question about who is playing in Andy’s backyard is also a great advertisement for Toy Story Land.

The nearby building of One Man’s Dream has been completely drenched in tarps as the outside of the building begins getting a brand new theme.

With the huge crowds and great excitement at Walt Disney World this past weekend with the opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar, there is so much to look forward to. Toy Story Land has seemingly taken a backseat to some of the other projects, but the new logo and Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster pictures have renewed the excitement. Now, the only thing to do is wait until the D23 Expo for the official opening date to be announced.
