Donald Trump Impeachment Is Possible Due To His Alleged Russian Collusion, Says Rep. Maxine Waters

Ever since the former business mogul won the presidential election, the talks of impeaching him have escalated with each passing day. #ImpeachTrumpNow started to trend on social media platforms when he signed travel ban orders on Muslim-majority countries. His methods to repeal Obamacare backfired by the Democrats and many experts have even predicted that his impeachment is reportedly going to happen once Congress will get enough evidence suggesting the alleged ties between the White House and the Kremlin.

Earlier this month, President Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, and now there are many legal experts who have speculated that there are indeed some severe ties between Washington and Moscow. Not only this, as reported earlier today, a total of 48 percent Americans are in favor of his impeachment when the news broke out that James Comey was fired during an ongoing FBI investigation.

As of this month, the only thing that was announced was that James Comey was relieved from his directorial position from the FBI. However, the latest development focuses on Jared Kushner, Trump’s senior advisor and Ivanka’s husband. Last week, it was confirmed that Jared was the focus of the FBI’s ongoing investigation.

It was then reported that Jared Kushner had last year asked the Russian ambassador to the U.S. to establish a secret backchannel using Moscow’s communication systems to enable the Donald Trump transition team to talk to the Kremlin. As reported by the Independent, the request was reportedly made at a meeting at Trump Tower, and the communications were intercepted by U.S. intelligence and later were leaked to the Washington Post.

Earlier in an investigation on Jared Kushner, FBI acting Director Andrew McCabe testified to the Senate Intelligence Committee that he would advise everyone of any possible White House interference with the ongoing investigation.

“You cannot stop the men and women of the FBI from doing the right thing, protecting the American people, and upholding the Constitution,” said Andrew McCabe after James Comey’s departure.

Speculations By Experts

As of this writing, there are many media and law experts who think that Donald Trump’s impeachment is likely going to happen soon because of the ongoing FBI investigation.

According to American history professor Ronald Feinman, the ongoing federal investigation would lead to Trump’s resignation or removal from office. Once he will be removed, Vice President Mike Pence will have the control of the office.

“Pence knows how to play ‘hardball’ and it is clear by his demeanor and body language that he is often uncomfortable with Trump’s freewheeling and careless behavior. An investigation into the Flynn matter will develop, with Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell promoting it.”

Apart from Professor Feinman, Rep. Maxine Waters suggested Trump’s impeachment on multiple occasions due to his alleged collusion with the Russian government.

“I think that he colluded with Putin during the election and that hacking and everything that took place.”

During Waters’ recent interview, she coyly spoke about Kushner and the alleged claims about the backchanneling with Moscow. Waters pressed on, suggesting that the Russians had hacked the DNC and other prominent politicians in Washington, and it is a threat that the should be resolved as soon as possible.

“We can connect the dots…We can get the facts that will lead to impeachment. I believe this president should be impeached, I don’t care what others say,” she said.

As of now, Donald Trump is said to have a meeting scheduled with New York lawyer Marc Kasowitz, who he has retained to help deal with the FBI investigation. Marc Kasowitz has earlier represented Trump in numerous cases, including his divorce records and allegations about Trump University.

Salon reported that “Russia could easily prove to the world that Trump collaborated with Russia during the campaign, and this would result in Trump’s immediate impeachment.” According to Salon’s writer, Russian President Vladimir Putin “possesses the power to instantly end Trump’s presidency whenever he pleases.”

At the federal level, Article II, Section 4 of the United States Constitution, “The President, Vice-President, and all civil Officers of the United States shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors.”

So, if recent reports and claims by the experts are to be believed, then also Congress will be needing enough evidence claiming Trump’s relationship with Putin and his associates to start drafting the impeachment papers.

Do you think Donald Trump allegedly colluded with the Russians during the presidential election, and if proven, will it lead to his impeachment before the end of his first-term? Sound off your views in the comments below.
