Iggy Azalea Bashes Odell Beckham Jr. Dating Rumors, Following Her ‘Tonight Show’ Performance

Iggy Azalea is back with a new single and she made a rare appearance on The Tonight Show to perform that song, “Switch,” with Anitta. Before Azalea delighted fans and Jimmy Fallon with the duet, Iggy took the time to address rumors that she was also embarking on a new personal relationship.

Recent rumors have linked the rapper to New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. and Iggy isn’t the type to let rumors fly without addressing them, especially when there isn’t a grain of truth to them.

Iggy Azalea Shoots Down Rumors Of A Romance With Odell Beckham, Jr.

As soon as she learned of the rumors linking her to Beckham in a new romance, XXL reported that Iggy Azalea wasted no time in bashing those rumors, revealing that she doesn’t even know the football player. When confronted with a photograph that would suggest Azalea isn’t being entirely honest about personally knowing Odell, the rapper emphasized that the picture was the result of a chance meeting.

“I literally don’t even know Odell Beckham,” Iggy insisted, before explaining how the picture came about. “He was at my friend’s party and we took a picture with a bunch of people and that’s it.”

Rumors linking Azalea and Beckham together began with sources revealing that Odell was skipping football practices to make time with Ms. Azalea. Gossip grew from there, suggesting the pair had rented a space at Bowlero Woodland Hills, an area bowling center.

Sources have since come forward in support of Azalea’s version of events, indicating the rumors are entirely fabricated. One source told TMZ that “people will create anything” for the attention.

Meanwhile, Iggy Azalea is throwing herself into her work, promoting her second album, Digital Distortion. After a series of setbacks, the new album from Azalea is set for a June 30 release date.

Iggy Azalea And Anitta Perform “Switch” On The Tonight Show

Friday was a special night for The Tonight Show, as famed Brazilian recording artist Anitta joined Iggy Azalea for a musical appearance with Jimmy Fallon, according to Direct Lyrics. Azalea and Anitta came together on stage to perform “Switch,” which is the newly released single from Iggy’s upcoming studio album. Currently, “Switch” is available for download in the iTunes store.

The release of “Switch” comes just a short time after Iggy expressed frustration over an illegally released version of the song’s music video leaked online. In addition to the violation, Iggy regretted that the video was unfinished and unworthy of the release.

The recording artist seems to have bounced back from that setback, as she has done with so many other obstacles to the release of Digital Distortion.

“‘Switch’ is a song that I recorded back in early August and I loved it,” Iggy said.

“I couldn’t think of who can sing on this song with me because I just really wanted to bring another female energy. I didn’t really have any female collaborations yet on my album. I think people really enjoyed me collaborating with other women and I wanted to make sure that I still did that. I was thinking, ‘Who can go on there?’ I couldn’t really find anybody.”

Iggy’s search was cut short, when a mutual friend suggested she consider Anitta for the opportunity. Although Azalea hadn’t heard of Anitta, her friend said the artist was a big deal in Brazil and even showed Iggy some YouTube videos of Anitta dancing for fans.

The performances floored Azalea, impressing her with Anitta’s passion and talent.

Ms. Azalea immediately contacted Anitta about collaborating with her on “Switch” and, from there, everything worked out perfectly for the duet.
