Ryant Serhant Talks Luis Ortiz’s ‘MDLNY’ Season 6 Role And His Co-Stars Frederick Eklund And Steve Gold

Apparently, Luis Ortiz’s fans don’t have to be too sad that he is no longer starring on Million Dollar Listing New York. That’s because Luis, according to his former co-star Ryan Serhant, will actually appear in episodes throughout the new season. Season 6 of the hit Bravo reality TV show, about the cutthroat and exciting word of high-end New York real estate, continues to feature Ryan and Frederick Eklund as two of the city’s top brokers. Taking Luis place as the third starring broker is Steve Gold.

On Friday, Ryan posted a photo of himself with Frederick and Steve in celebration of the new season. Also in the photo is Ryan’s wife, Emilia Bechrakis, who frequently appears alongside Ryan in the show and who starred with him in their wedding spin-off that aired last year. In his caption, Ryan wrote that he feels fortunate to be surrounded by such amazing people and to have such amazing fans. He asked the show’s viewers to welcome the new cast member, Steve, with open arms. Ryan called Steve a great friend and broker who’s a great addition to the show.

As for Luis, who starred alongside Ryan and Fredrick for the previous four seasons, Ryan revealed that he “shows up all over this season.”

The Season 6 preview for Million Dollar Listing New York actually shows Luis very briefly, when he makes a surprise appearance as Fredrick gives a confessional interview. The scene shows Fredrick screaming in happiness towards someone. “Aaaahhhhh!!!! We were just talking about you,” he exclaims. Luis, with a big smile on his face, then appears and gives Fredrick a big hug.

Towards the end of Season 5, Luis Ortiz shared that he was feeling unhappy and wanted to change his life. Shockingly, on the Season 5 finale, Luis announced that he was retiring from real estate altogether. When he called his mom and told him her decision, she gave him her unconditional support. In a confessional interview, Luis said that he was happier, reflected on his real estate career and expressed excitement over what’s to come. Luis made it clear that he was never in real estate just to make a lot of money and that financial success is not his goal in life.

In an interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish in July 2016, Luis talked about his decision to leave his real estate career when he was doing so well.

“It was tough because first of all, I didn’t know that that was what I needed to do. I always ignored that that could be a possibility because I’m at the peak of my game and doing better today than I’ve ever done in my career. So why would I think that? But when I realized that it wasn’t making me happy, it was a hard decision to make because then you say you have built a career that is allowing you to do so well or you’re doing so well, but yet doesn’t make you happy — so the decision has to be which one do I choose? So I chose happiness.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Luis also talked about the reactions of his co-stars Ryan Serhant and Fredrick Eklund. Luis admitted that he thinks that Ryan and Fredrick, while happy for him, are “bummed” about him leaving real estate because of what it may mean for the show. Yet Luis expressed optimism that he was going to get closer to Ryan and Fredrick as personal friends since he was no longer going to be a real estate rival to them.

Indeed, Luis actually met up with both Ryan and Fredrick last month in Paris, where he now lives. The trio, along with the show’s newest star Steve Gold, celebrated Fredrick’s 40th birthday. A photo that Luis posted shows the four men posing happily together, with the Eiffel Tower glittering behind them.

Another photo that Luis, who is now writing a book, posted shows him walking in Paris with Fredrick and Ryan.

Was it just a coincidence that all three of the star’s shows were in Paris with Luis at the same time or was it actually coordinated as part of filming? Perhaps viewers will see Fredrick Eklund, Ryan Serhant, Steve Gold, and Luis Ortiz in Paris towards the end of Million Dollar Listing New York Season 6?
