Angelina Jolie May Retire When Her Kids Are Teenagers

Angelina Jolie may retire when her kids become teenagers, according to Yahoo! News.

During a recent interview, the actress revealed that balancing acting and motherhood is proving to be more than a little difficult. As a result, Jolie said that she may decide to leave the Hollywood life behind when the kids are a little older.

“I think I’m going to have to give up acting as the kids hit the teenage years, anyway because, you know, there’s going to be too much to manage at home,” Jolie explained to Channel 4 News.

Instead of spending a large amount of time in front of the camera, Angelina Jolie said that she intended to focus her efforts on her children.

“I’ve enjoyed being an actress and I’m so grateful for the job and I’ve had great experiences and I’ve even been able to tell stories and be a part of stories that mattered and I’ve also done really, just things for fun,” she added.

But just because Angelina Jolie is turning her back on the film industry doesn’t mean she’s going to stop channeling her energy into various humanitarian efforts. According to the New York Post, the actress intends to keep lending a hand to those in need.

“But if it went away tomorrow I would be very happy to be home with the children. I wake up in the morning as a mom and I turn on the news like everybody else and I see what’s happening and I want to be part of the world in a positive way,” she said.

Although retirement plans may be in Angelina Jolie’s future, fans will have a few more projects to look forward to in the coming years. In 2014, the actress will appear in director Robert Stromberg’s Maleficent, which is a retelling of Sleeping Beauty from the villain’s perspective. Kung Fu Panda 3 and Salt 2 are also looming on the horizon.
