The Young and the Restless fans are in for some extreme family drama next week.
Spoilers tease that the Newmans are very close to a major showdown with the impending return of the supposedly dead Adam (Michael Muhney/Justin Hartley). Meanwhile, the Abbotts’ world has been rocked by Dina’s (Marla Adams) arrival and will soon be turned upside-down when she reveals a game-changing secret.
Spoilers for next week’s The Young and the Restless episodes hint at several revelations, the return of a central character, and a confession or two. A Y&R promo even suggests that there might be another murder.
Here’s what’s happening in the next few weeks on The Young and the Restless, according to spoilers.
Ashley and Dina clash — again
This week on The Young and the Restless, fans saw Dina and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) have an epic face-off. The defiant Dina reminded Ashley that she is hiding the truth about her own child’s paternity and accused her fuming daughter of being just like her. Ashley countered by saying that she, at least, was never an absentee mother.
The Abbott siblings have dealt with their mother’s surprise return differently. Jack (Peter Bergman) has been more accommodating and has been willing to make peace with Dina so they could all move on with their lives. Ashley, on the other hand, has been more stubborn. However, her intense confrontation with Dina this week will have her changing tack.
The Young and the Restless spoilers from SheKnows Soaps say that Ashley will hold a dinner for Dina in the Wednesday episode. Celeb Dirty Laundry suggests that this event will be a very uncomfortable one. Dina will reportedly be the one trying to make peace. Unfortunately, Ashley’s suspicions about the reason for Dina’s return are growing, and she will accuse her mother of keeping huge secrets from her children.
Ashley might, in fact, be onto something. The Young and the Restless spoilers for the Friday episode say that she will receive more information about Graham (Max Shippee).
Dina has been back on The Young and the Restless for a couple of weeks now, and the writers can only draw out this storyline’s suspense for so long. This means that it’s only a matter of time before Dina finally reveals the reason for her arrival in Genoa City. Or, maybe the senior Abbott has no plans of confessing this detail. Instead, Ashley’s snooping could prove fruitful, and she might confront her mother with the truth.
Is Dina’s return really about family and legacy? Or is she, as Ashley suspects, up to no good? Dina has always been exceptionally selfish, which makes it hard to believe that she’s now thinking about her children. But what if, confronted with her mortality, she had a sudden change of heart? Could Dina, as The Young and the Restless spoilers have suggested, be dying? And is this her exit storyline?
Adam returns, wages war
By now, The Young and the Restless fans know that the “dead” Adam will probably be “resurrected,” and could be played by a new actor. Spoilers for the upcoming episodes of The Young and the Restless have also indicated that this is happening soon. Certainly, Chloe’s return to Genoa City next week seems to indicate that the Newmans will soon learn the truth about Adam’s “murder.”
At this point, no one knows Adam’s whereabouts and condition. It’s also unclear how he will make it back to Genoa. Spoilers suggest that he will perhaps be rescued by Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), who will force the truth about Adam from Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson), or even by Nick (Joshua Morrow) or Scott (Daniel Hall).
But what seems clear is that when Adam finally makes it back to Genoa City, he and his father, Victor (Eric Braeden) will have a showdown unlike any The Young and the Restless fans have seen before. Victor did, after all, enable Chloe to try and murder his son. While it was Chloe who tried to kill Adam, she hasn’t been right in the head since her daughter’s death. Victor, meanwhile, knows full well what he has done.
The Young and the Restless spoilers from CDL suggest that Adam will return to Genoa City with revenge on his mind. Fans should stay tuned for the terrible reckoning ahead.
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
