Selena Gomez Says Her Relationship With The Weeknd Is Getting Serious
Selena Gomez has just released her new track, “Bad Liar,” and has been doing a whirlwind of press interviews to promote her new single. A hot topic on every interviewer’s mind is Selena’s relationship with fellow singer The Weeknd, and she’s admitted that things are heating up between the pair.
The singer and actress was previously known for her tumultuous on-again, off-again relationship with Justin Bieber, but according to reports, this relationship is much healthier and more fulfilling than anything she ever had with Justin.
In an interview with Power 96.5 in Miami, Florida, the singer admitted that her new song is all about her beau.
“[‘Bad Liar’ is about] that feeling when you’re obsessed with someone, when you first initially, I always say the honeymoon stage. I’m a sucker for that feeling, it’s the best feeling in the whole world… You’re willing to want to dress differently, want to eat differently, but it’s not what I’m encouraging. It’s more about that feeling that you can’t play it cool. That’s just what I’m feeling in this exact moment and I don’t know how to play it cool. I’m not that girl… It’s worked out for me so far, I guess.”
Selena Gomez also revealed that she’s hoping to keep growing and changing as an artist, and she hopes “Bad Liar” puts her at the next level.
“Genuinely I wanted to work on something that was just an evolution from the music that I had done… It’s been so fun for me to try new things… I always want to challenge myself and push myself to be better… I do like to try things that are different,” she said.
Selena Gomez and her man stepped out for the first time in January, sparking rumors that they were a couple and that she definitely wasn’t getting back with Justin Bieber again. They made their red carpet debut on May 1 at the Met Gala and were spotted at Coachella enjoying the festival with their friends and other celebrities.
An insider stated that the pair’s relationship was the real thing.
“[They are] deliriously happy in their healthy and fulfilling relationship!” they stated.
Several people who know Selena Gomez have stated that they’ve never seen the singer this happy, and it’s all down to her new romance with The Weeknd.
“I’m the kind of girl that loves tremendously big. I just have always been that girl. I will give my heart and my soul to the person that I love. It’s just how I operate. With that comes a lot, ya know? Clearly you understand,” she stated during her interview, insinuating that she had fallen hard for her man.
Selena Gomez has certainly come a long way in recent months. Not long ago, the actress and singer took a few months off to take care of herself after going public with her diagnosis of lupus SLE. The star revealed that she was taking a chemotherapy drug, Methotrexate, to help her body get back in tip-top shape and put her lupus in remission.
She has also suffered from depression and other mental health issues that have to do with her diagnosis of lupus SLE.
The singer has also recently produced the incredibly successful 13 Reasons Why, which debuted in March on Netflix’s streaming service. Although it has been subject to controversy due to its portrayal of suicide, it has become one of the most successful series on Netflix. Although it was supposed to just be a 13-part series based on the original novel, the incredible popularity it enjoyed has earned it a second season.
