Kandi Burruss Speaks On Phaedra Parks, Post ‘RHOA’ Reunion: ‘We Can Never Talk Again’
Kandi Burruss isn’t too happy with Phaedra Parks, these days — not that anyone could blame her. Even though Kandi was finally vindicated during RHOA’s four-part reunion, where it was revealed that Phaedra Parks lied on her, it’s not easy to deal with having a former friend betray you.
Kandi recently spoke to E! News and revealed how she feels about the truth finally coming to the light.
“It’s a relief to me that my name was cleared, that people no longer have to wonder if I would do something like that.You can’t fight a lie. I’m just so glad the truth finally came out because I would never want something like that to be attached to me.”
The lie Kandi is referring to is the one that Phaedra Parks planted in Porsha Williams’ ear. Phaedra told Porsha that she’d overheard Kandi and her husband, Todd Tucker, talking about planning to drug her. The lie caused drama between Kandi and Porsha all season long and harmed Kandi’s reputation in the process.
Since the RHOA reunion aired, Phaedra Parks has unofficially been let go from the show. Many of Phaedra Parks’ Housewives franchise co-stars — including Kenya Moore, Sheree Whitfield, and Bethenny Frankel — have spoken out against her, and Andy Cohen has all but confirmed that the ladies don’t want to film with her anymore.
Kandi Burruss shared a similar sentiment about Phaedra while speaking to E! News.
“At the end of the day, all the girls throw shade at each other, but to know that people actually plot, behind the scenes, to plant information on people that’s completely made up, that’s a real problem. It wasn’t even for the sake of television; it was for the sake of tearing me down. The fact that she never once let on that she had anything to do with it, clearly, she just wants to tear down my reputation, kill my fan base, hurt my business. It was really just terrible. And then she’s supposed to be friends with Porsha? Then she set her up to be the fall guy? That’s a lot of plotting going on. People don’t want to deal with that.”
Now that we finally know where Kandi Burruss stands on Phaedra, where does this leave her and Porsha Williams?
Even though Porsha was Kandi’s biggest adversary last season, Porsha did apologize to Kandi after Phaedra fessed up about her lie. Not only that, but Porsha seemed genuinely apologetic for the part she played in sullying Kandi’s reputation.
Kandi appreciates that, to an extent, but she’s still not sure about where she stands with Porsha.
“I’m still not feeling her either. At the end of the day, she knew it was a lie. She cannot sit there and say she believed it. I’m happy she finally told the truth, I’ll give her that,” Buruss explained. “But did you tell the truth because you were tired of people tearing you down, saying you were a liar, or did you do it for the right reasons?”
That said, Porsha has managed to garner more sympathy from Kandi than Phaedra Parks.
“As far as Porsha is concerned, she and I will probably end up having to have a conversation about this. I’ll still probably never be close with her again. But Phaedra? We can never talk again,” she said.
