Jill Duggar And Husband Derick Dillard Get Bashed Over A Pizza Post

Did Jill Duggar and husband Derick Dillard just imply that their mission life in Central America is utterly harsh? That’s what Counting On fans are saying over a seemingly innocent photo of Derick eating pizza.

The photo was posted on the Duggar Family Official Facebook page on Thursday, May 25. It shows Derick doing a thumbs up sign while holding a whole box of pepperoni pizza, with the caption that reads: “I think Derick was really excited to get some pizza now that he is back in the U.S.A.”

Some fans quickly jumped in on the post and slammed the missionary couple. They pointed out that Jill and Derick shouldn’t make their missionary life appear as if it is unbearably dire and miserable. After all, they commented, there’s pizza in most parts of the world, especially in Central America.

“Whenever I hear them talk or read anything they write being in or on the mission field, they always make it sound as if they are so isolated in the wilderness. And then there is always the talk of danger, hearing gunshots day and night. Gees, it gets very tiring to hear all the time. You would think they were in a war zone country…”

The fan page Duggar Family News: Life is not all pickles and hairspray even dug up old photos showing the Duggar family in front of a Pizza Hut chain in Central America where Jill and Derick’s ministry is based. Another photo shows the Counting On sisters, including Jill, enjoying Little Ceasar’s pizza. The Spanish words on the pizza box clearly show that they were in Central America when the photo was taken.

“That’s to make their gullible fans feel sorry for them and give them even more money,” another fan commented.

After their wedding, Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard moved to Central America where they joined S.O.S. Ministries as field missionaries. However, they still appear on their TLC reality series, Counting On along with other Duggar siblings. Jill and Derick also regularly update their fans on their life in Central America through their website.

Just this month, the couple reported that their friend has been tragically murdered in Central America. Violence, poor health issues, and financial provision are always their concerns when asking for prayers from fans.

Jill and Derick are now back in the U.S. and are currently spending time in Arkansas with the Duggar family. There have been several speculations as to the timing of their return, including the possible secret wedding of Jill’s younger sister Joy-Anna Duggar to fiance Austin Forsyth.

Though Joy and Austin never officially announced a wedding date, fans believed that the two will be getting married in October based on a now deleted online wedding registry. However, family insiders reported that the initial date was only a decoy to distract the public and the press. Their actual wedding date is much sooner, this weekend to be exact. Jill’s homecoming certainly did nothing to douse the rumors.

Jill is also in the third trimester of her pregnancy, so it is expected that she and Derick will be returning to the States any time. The couple obviously wants their baby to be born in America, close to their family and friends.

“Please continue to pray with us for continued financial support as we still need to raise additional support for the rest of our time here on the field as well as the time we will be home surrounding the birth of our second little boy due in early July.”
