Jinger Duggar Vuolo does it again. She wore pants and her husband showed them off. Fans saw it as her coming into her own even as some criticized Duggar family norms.
Jinger Duggar was first spotted in Texas a few months ago wearing shorts. It set off talk about her husband's liberal views towards women's clothing. The Duggar girls adhere to a strict dress code, at least in public view, and are often seen in skirts. Though marriage liberates them from following the family's norms, Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald did not change their ways after they wed. Jinger's wardrobe change was thus viewed as a rebel act, with some fans advising her to revert to old ways while most others lauded her for it. Clearly, Jinger has the support of her husband Jeremy Vuolo as he shares her images. While appreciating the Laredo pastor for his views on women's dressing despite being religious, Duggar critics have taken digs at the family.
"It is your liberty as to whether you dress modestly with a modest pair of pants, or with a skirt, or with a T-shirt, or with a blouse," the soccer-star-turned-pastor reportedly said in one of his sermons, according to an earlier report by the Inquisitr."I love how you've starting incorporating pants into your wardrobe - you show that modesty is completely possible in items of clothing other than dresses/skirts. And that modesty is in demeanor, not just dress." one fan responded to Jeremy's latest Instagram photo.
"Wear them pants!! Do you girl! You don't have to follow your parents rules, you are grown and married," another quipped.
The fact that Jinger Duggar has been able to wear different styles after marriage, when miles away from Northwest Arkansas in Texas, was not lost on fans. "So does Jinger feel like her parents belief all these years were wrong? I notice she wears pants and shorts now. just wondering," questioned a fan.
"She's an adult she's married she doesn't have to believe that her parents views or beliefs are wrong. While living under her parents roof she had to follow the rules but now that she's out on her own she doesn't have to she can make her own choices," a comment reads in response.
Michelle Duggar has spoken on many occasions about modesty, describing the family's clothing preferences as those that do not stir "desire."
"Our interpretation was that from the neck down to the knee should be covered. By keeping those private areas covered, there's not any 'defrauding' going on. My kids are taught the definition of defrauding as stirring up desires that cannot be righteously fulfilled. We don't believe in defrauding others by the way we dress. And different people may be defrauded by different things. We can't control their thoughts, but we're responsible before God for our part. And so years ago, I just felt between me and my Lord that I really needed to dress modestly."Though she is spotted in shorts and pants in Texas, Jinger Duggar is careful when around her family. During the family's visit to Kentucky for sister Joy-Anna's wedding gown earlier in May, Mrs. Vuolo was seen in a dress. In response to Jinger's sightings in pants, fans have often wondered why Jill and Jessa cannot clothe differently as the Dillards and Seewalds are known to espouse more liberal views on dressing.
Jinger's wardrobe changes could see Jessa Seewald fend uncomfortable questions when the latter talks about modest living in Ohio next month. The event is restricted to girls aged over 9 and women. A past Inquisitr report pointed out divided fan opinion on whether Jessa can defend Jinger Duggar Vuolo's actions.
