‘Dance Moms’ Season 8 Cast Rumor: Nia Sioux Hints Exit

There is still no word about the second half of Dance Moms Season 7, but there are already talks with regards to Season 8 and what it would look like.

Nia Sioux and her mother Holly Frazier recently sat down for an interview with CBS Local to talk about the future of the show with dance coach Abby Lee Miller out of the picture.

Nia is the only remaining original cast member of Dance Moms, but her contract has now expired, which casts doubts on whether she will return for a new season should there be one.

The talented dancer, however, has hinted that she might not come back for a new season as she is focused on new opportunities. In fact, Nia Sioux will be a very busy girl this year not counting another season of Dance Moms.

She has been making music after wrapping up filming for Dance Moms Season 7B. She will be releasing a new song titled “You Don’t Really Wanna” along with a music video soon. Nia has also recently announced her tour scheduled this summer.

She has also been dabbling in some acting. Fans can now watch her in a drama film titled Take Two for Faith co-starring Janine Turner, Leigh-Allyn Baker, and Patrick Muldoon.

The Dance Moms favorite was also chosen to play the lead role in a movie titled Dancer. The logline of the film, which will be directed Sheldon Epps, as revealed by IMDB reads:

“After her dance video goes viral, a West Texas teen is given a once in a lifetime chance to audition with an elite dance company, only to discover her heart is bigger than any stage.”

When asked about the possibility of Dance Moms Season 8, Nia did not exactly say that she will be back for it, but she believes it will be a run unlike anything they have done before.

“I don’t know what a Season 8 would look like, but it would be a totally different experience.”

In an interview with Hollywire TV, Nia did not provide a concrete answer about coming back in Dance Moms Season 8 and even hinted she would like to move on to new things.

“I’ve been doing it for so long, if it goes on, we’ll see what happens. But if it stops, I think that it’s been a long show, it’s kind of like a bittersweet kind of thing.”

At the moment, Dance Moms Season 8 is not confirmed by Lifetime yet. In fact, there are no details about the airing of Season 7B. The fate of the reality series is still up in the air, especially after the major cast shakeups.

Abby Lee Miller quit Dance Moms and is headed to prison for a year in the coming months for bankruptcy fraud. Brynn Rumfallo, Maesi Caes, mini team dancers Elliana Walmsley and Lilliana Ketchman and choreographer Gianna Martello also left following the Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC) owner’s exit.

Kendall Vertes is also reportedly not returning in Dance Moms Season 8, but starred in the second half of the current season along with Nia, Chloe Lukasiak, Kalani Hilliker and Camryn Bridges.

There were previous reports that producer Bryan Stinson was putting together a new dance group for Season 8 including a couple of guest dancers that appeared in previous seasons. However, at this point in time, there is no way of knowing what is next for Dance Moms except the possibility of the show losing Nia Sioux as well.

Cheryl Burke of Dancing with the Stars, who was chosen to take Abby Lee Miller’s place, is willing to work with the girls in Dance Moms for the long run. In an interview with E! News, Burke said that the girls were “traumatized by the past” when they worked on Dance Moms with the ALDC founder and she is determined to use a new approach.

“I just want them to know it’s all about positive reinforcement, but I am still strict. I’m not going to let anything swing by, but it’s been a roller coaster ride in such a short amount of time to be honest. Once Abby left we only did a few weeks and there’s so much more I want to bring out from them.”

Dance Moms Season 7B has no air date yet.
