Angelina Jolie’s Kids Are Her Priority, Is She Ready to Co-Parent With Brad Pitt?

Angelina Jolie is reportedly ready to start co-parenting with her estranged husband, Brad Pitt.

Although the children, 15-year-old Maddox, 13-year-old Pax, 12-year-old Zahara, 10-year-old Shiloh, and eight-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, currently live with their mother, Angelina Jolie, the actress is allegedly preparing to start over with her new home in Los Feliz.

On May 22, Hollywood Life revealed Angelina Jolie would soon move into her new home, which is located just a short distance away from her former marital home in Los Feliz, where Pitt has been living since their split.

“[Angelina Jolie] is hoping to use moving to the new home as a fresh start, for her and the kids, and for her and Brad,” a source close to the 41-year-old actress revealed to the outlet. “She’s really hoping they can try and put the drama of the past months behind them and start a new chapter on better terms — and as co-parents to the kids.”

Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in September 2016 after just two years of marriage and about 12 years together. At the same time, she requested a judge grant her full physical custody of her six kids with Pitt having nothing more than visitation with the children.

While Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s split was quite dramatic at the time, the tension between them has reportedly subsided and now, Jolie reportedly realizes that the most important thing is her children and their welfare.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have kept their distance when it comes to what fans have seen publicly in recent months, but according to a new report, their kids would love them to be closer.

“In a perfect world, the kids would absolutely love it if mom and dad lived next door to each other,” an insider revealed to Hollywood Life earlier this month. “That’s what they’ve been asking for. Ideally, what the kids would want is for mom and dad to get back together.”

A reconciliation between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is likely a long shot, but with Jolie having purchased a home near her estranged husband, their kids will surely be getting the next best thing. Still, they reportedly can’t help but hope for something more.

“The kids seem to think if mom and dad live next door to each other, there will be a greater chance for them reconciling,” the source explained. “They’re still holding out hope that one day they will all be living under the same roof.”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have both been linked to other celebrities in the months since they parted ways, but thus far, neither party has gone public with anyone new. Instead, they seem to be focused on their careers and their co-parenting relationship.

“[Angelina Jolie] and Brad have a long way to go still, but they are definitely in a much better place now than they were even a few months back,” a third insider noted. “Angelina is able to appreciate Brad again, and although it’s still some way off, she’s beginning to think they may be able to forge a friendship in the future.”

After parting ways with Brad Pitt in September, Angelina Jolie and her kids moved to Malibu, California, which is nearly an hour away from her former marital home in Los Feliz. Then, months after renting her beach pad, Jolie put in an offer on the historic Cecile B. DeMille estate.

Although Angelina Jolie’s offer wasn’t confirmed, it was rumored to be just shy of $25 million. According to TMZ, the home boasts six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms and was built in 1913.
