Selena Gomez Did Not Have A ‘Pregnancy Scare’ Amid Her Relationship With The Weeknd [Debunked]

Selena Gomez never had the “pregnancy scare” that a recent report spoke of in their magazine.

While Selena Gomez and her boyfriend, The Weeknd, appear to be quite serious about their relationship, a pregnancy doesn’t appear to be in their near future. And when it comes to a report suggesting Gomez recently feared she was pregnant, a Gossip Cop report has shut down the rumor.

As Gossip Cop revealed on May 21, the National Enquirer blared a deceptive headline days ago, which read, “Selena Pregnancy Horror!” Meanwhile, in the article, the tabloid claimed the 24-year-old singer “decided to take a chance of having sex without birth control,” but her “risk” soon “backfired” when she was dealt with an “inconclusive pregnancy test.”

“She’s just getting her career back on track after her stint in rehab, and the last thing she needed was to get pregnant,” the outlet continued, adding that Gomez was “terrified” before ultimately learning she “dodged a bullet.”

Selena Gomez and The Weeknd began dating several months ago and went public with their relationship during a visit to the Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica, California.

Although the couple has chosen to ignore the rumor regarding Selena Gomez’s alleged “pregnancy scare,” a source close to Gomez assured Gossip Cop that the entire article is “made up.”

Since going public with their relationship, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd have traveled the globe to several places — including Brazil, Amsterdam, France, and Canada — and recently made their red carpet debut at the 2017 Met Gala in New York City.

Prior to Selena Gomez’s relationship with The Weeknd, she was involved in an on-and-off relationship with Justin Bieber. Meanwhile, The Weeknd dated model Bella Hadid for about two years.

Earlier this month, just days after they hit the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd were faced with a rumor claiming friends of Gomez feared she was “desperately trying to have a baby” with The Weeknd in an effort to keep the relationship intact.

“Some of [Selena Gomez’s] family believes that she is trying to trap him into getting her pregnant,” a source revealed to Radar Online (via Gossip Cop). “It is the only thing in life that she has not yet experienced.”

Selena Gomez is “afraid that [The Weeknd] is going to leave her,” the alleged insider continued, adding that “certain family members… believe she is still trying to get back at Justin Bieber.”

Although Selena Gomez and The Weeknd have faced several pregnancy rumors just months into their romance, none of the latest reports are true. In response to Radar Online’s report, a source close to Gomez told Gossip Cop that the allegation of Gomez trapping The Weeknd with a baby was entirely “false.”

Before her relationship with The Weeknd began, Selena Gomez spent three months away from the spotlight as she tended to her mental health during a visit to a treatment center in Tennessee. As fans may recall, Selena Gomez revealed struggles with anxiety, panic attacks, and depression in a statement to People Magazine in August of 2016.

Following her stint in rehab, Selena Gomez made her return to the spotlight at the 2016 American Music Awards, where she was given the award for Best Female Artist: Pop/Rock. During her acceptance speech, Selena Gomez told fans she needed a break and assured the audience that she was no longer in need of their approval and encouraged social media users to quit showing off their bodies and start showing off what was in their hearts.
