Kate Middleton Pregnant: Celebrities And Politicians React

Kate Middleton is pregnant, as you can’t have possibly failed to hear.

The Duchess of Cambridge is said to be in “the early stages” of pregnancy, with she and Prince William expecting their first child less than a year after being married in a widely televised ceremony.

Alas, pregnancy does not appear to agree with Duchess Kate: The newest royal was sent to King Edward VII Hospital in London on Monday morning with a condition known as hyperemesis gravidarum, an acute morning sickness that is treated with supplementary nutrients and hydration.

No word has been given on a due date, though when Kate’s baby does emerge, it will automatically be third in line for the throne – regardless of gender.

New succession laws mean that if Middleton has a girl, said child will be in line of succession no matter what. Should the Duke and Duchess have sons at a later date, that will have no effect on the baby girl’s path to becoming a monarch.

All of which is very interesting, but we’re not answering the really big questions here. Questions like: “what does Khloe Kardashian think of Kate Middleton’s pregnancy?”

Since the news emerged from St. James’ Palace on Monday, celebrities and politicians have flocked to Twitter to offer their congratulations. Below, we’ve posted just some of the well wishes that have been sent the royals’ way.

Khloe Kardashian got things going, in a message that was retweeted by sister Kim:

UK Prime Minister David Cameron was also quick to offer his best wishes:

British comedian Frankie Boyle responded with a typically irreverent quip:

Lost creator Damon Lindelof was more, um, hopeful…

… while Ryan Seacrest kept it brief:

Ivanka Trump weighed in with her congratulations…

…and Maria Shriver felt Kate’s pain:

But tennis star Boris Becker probably went to the most effort, including a picture with his message:
