Billy Ray Cyrus took time to talk to Elite Daily about what he really thinks of his two daughters, Miley Cyrus and Noah Cyrus, and their music careers. Billy Ray stopped at the Xfinity booth at the T-Mobile Arena’s Radio Roy to chat about Miley and Noah and what they’ve been up to lately.

Miley Cyrus took the stage at the Billboard Music Awards tonight, Sunday, May 21, where she sang her newly released single “Malibu.” Miley Cyrus has said that it is a song written about her relationship with Liam Hemsworth and her feelings for him. It’s only been out for about a week but it has already reached the top of the charts.

Obviously, fans love Miley Cyrus’ new single but what does her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus think about “Malibu” and the direction the Miley’s career is taking?

Billy Ray Cyrus is excited about Miley’s new song and told Elite Daily,

“I love ‘Malibu’ and Miley’s album…When I listen to it, I hear a lot of her roots. I hear a lot of the influences that I heard her playing as a little girl.”

Billy Ray Cyrus spoke of the kind of music that she used to play when she was starring in Hannah Montana and he was driving her back and forth from the set. He said she played a lot of Johnny Cash and Eddie James and a lot of other artists that most kids were not listening to at that time. Those are the kinds of influences he hears in her music these days.
