Now that Paris Jackson has come out into the spotlight as a celebrity, it is worth noting that she is having success by doing something that her father, Michael Jackson, did not favor: interviews.
On the other hand, Paris Jackson is taking a page from her father's book by looking good in front of the camera. Although Paris Jackson recently got a lot of attention in headlines for posting pictures on Instagram where she was showing off some skin, her father, Michael Jackson, already beat her to this game a few years before she was born in 1998.
In fact, when Michael Jackson was married to Lisa Marie Presley in 1994 and 1995, they made a racy video for "You Are Not Alone" where both she and MJ were less-than-dressed.
Obviously, being nude in public is not a taboo in the Jackson family, but there is one line that Michael Jackson rarely crossed that Paris Jackson is clearly in full charge of -- and that is her wealth of communication with the public.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Paris Jackson has not been posting many captions to her Instagram account in some of the earlier months in 2017. Despite this, Paris Jackson has made up for this with lots of Twitter posts and in-depth interviews.
In-depth interviews started pouring out of Paris Jackson around the end of January when she told Rolling Stone that, while the Michael Jackson estate gives her more than enough money for the rest of her life, Paris Jackson wants to earn her own money.
Paris Jackson also mentioned in this late-January interview that her father Michael Jackson gave her a celebrity platform as an inheritance, and she did not want to waste it.
At this time, she was not officially modeling, but instead Paris Jackson started making more public appearances by accepting awards on behalf of her father Michael Jackson. For example, Paris Jackson accepted a Grammy Award that honored her father in mid-February 2017.
In February and March, Paris Jackson continued to show up at awards ceremonies, but the interview she did with Jimmy Fallon around March 21 did not have many mentions of Michael Jackson.
The reasons for this lack of focus on her father was due to Paris Jackson putting her new career into overdrive. Following the Rolling Stone interview around January 24, Paris Jackson popped up in the headlines due to a cameo appearance on Lee Daniels' Fox TV show Star.
Not long after, according to People, Paris Jackson signed on with the IMG modeling agency around March 3. The Star episode aired around March 9, according to Deadline.
It was clear at the beginning of 2017 that Paris Jackson was being interviewed because she was now an adult and she was also Michael Jackson's daughter. Nevertheless, the interview with Jimmy Fallon a few months later stood out because it was mainly about Paris Jackson's new acting and modeling career -- and not her father.
Paris Jackson, as a model and actress, is also keen on being in front of the camera or on the red carpet as much as possible. For instance, Paris Jackson was at the Met Gala around May 1.
If she cannot do an in-depth interview, Paris Jackson is also fine with texting major magazines such as Teen Vogue.
Alternatively, Paris Jackson's father, Michael Jackson, was a permanent fixture in the spotlight, but this was limited to tabloids and the music he made. What Michael Jackson did not do is give very many interviews, according to the fan-operated All Michael Jackson archive.
About this, Telegraph wrote in 2010 that Michael Jackson did not give a lengthy, official interview between 1979 and 1993. When he did decide to put himself back in front of the media cameras in 1993, Michael Jackson chose Oprah Winfrey to do the interview.
Since Paris Jackson is a model, getting in front of the camera is crucial for her career, and her interviews as well as frequent social media posts help her fans stay in touch.
There will definitely be more to come from Paris Jackson in 2017, and it seems that even if she has a minor role in something, it gets a lot of buzz because of her.
A good example is her appearance in an upcoming thriller movie with Charlize Theron and David Oyelowo from Amazon Studios and STX Entertainment. Even before it officially had the name of Gringo, Paris Jackson fans were overjoyed that she would be involved in a small way in the filming as an actress.
According to Variety, Paris Jackson does not have a major role in the film, but it is likely her fans will hear a lot about Gringo in the next months since it will not be released until March 9, 2018 -- and Paris Jackson fans will want to hear every detail along the way.
Alternatively, there is one role that Paris Jackson fans hope she takes, but Michael Jackson's ex-girlfriend might not approve. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, fans in the U.K. are especially anxious to see if rumors are true that Paris Jackson might be playing Madonna in an upcoming biopic about her Blond Ambition Tour.
The timing of this biopic is tricky since the timeline overlaps with Madonna's short dating relationship with Michael Jackson, Paris Jackson's father.
