‘Supergirl’ Season 2: Will Kara Die In The Finale? Cast Member Melissa Benoist Hints Ominous Possibilities

As fans are eagerly waiting for Supergirl Season 2 finale, one of the major cast members has revealed ominous possibilities for the final episode. Melissa Benoist has talked about what is going to happen this Monday.

For obvious reasons, Benoist has not given out any details. However, what she said about the finale would leave fans worried. In a recent interview, the actress has apologized to all the fans in advance. According to her, fans are going to have an emotional ride with Kara Zor-El in the finale episode.

“I think it’s a huge finale, and there’s a lot going on, and I think people will go on an emotional roller coaster with Kara,” Benoist said.

“I’m sorry to all the fans in advance.”

Benoist’s take on Supergirl Season 2 finale might seem alarming to fans. It is obvious that there is some bad thing is going to happen in that episode. Simply because the details are not revealed, fans might go on to fear the ultimate. And, there is a reason for fearing so. In 1985, the creators of the maxi-series Crisis on Infinite Earths decided to kill Supergirl Kara. That’s why one never knows what is going on the makers’ minds. It is especially concerning because the apology is coming from Benoist, who plays the lead role in the CW show.

Even Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg earlier said that Supergirl Season 2 finale is probably the biggest they had ever done. According to Kreisberg, the makers save a lot of money for the visual effects in the finale episode. An additional day was added to the schedule to make it as big as possible.

“It also has multiple get-your-Kleenex scenes,” Kreisberg told the Entertainment Weekly.

“We’re really excited about it. We’re all blown away.”

However, there is a silver lining about it. Benoist has claimed that Supergirl Season 3 is going to get even bigger. While Season 2 has been quite impressive with Terry Hatcher and Dean Cain, the next season has all the reasons to get even bigger. Benoist always wonders if they will be able to top what they did earlier. However, the next script comes with another surprise, and things get greater than before, she said.

“I think we’ll only just keep getting bigger and bigger,” Benoist told ComicBook.

“The scope of this world is so massive that we can’t go back.”

Benoist also talked about a high point in Supergirl Season 2 finale. She takes no time to choose Calista Flockhart’s Cat Grant, who has appeared only in four episodes this season, even though she was a regular in Season 1. According to the actress, Flockhart’s character “elevates the show in a way no one else can.”

The trailer of Supergirl Season 2 finale somehow establishes the ground for the ominous possibility. Kara challenges Rhea to a trial by combat as she wants to stop the Daxamites from invading Earth. Rhea, nevertheless, is driven by her vengeance against Kara for turning Mon-El against her. While the Girl of Steel has honest intentions, this can be dangerous for her.

“May the fate of my people rest on the fate of my life,” Kara says in the trailer.

Kara’s boyfriend Mon-El is not happy about her decision to invoke the trial by combat. He seems quite upset about it, and he does not miss the opportunity to let Kara know about it. Kara, on the contrary, finds support in Cat, who is ready to put all her chips on the Girl of Steel.

Supergirl Season 2 finale airs on Monday, May 22 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
