Glee’s Jacob Artist Scores Film Role In ‘White Bird’

Looks like Jacob Artist’s star is rising. The new cast member of Glee, who portrays Jake Puckerman, is set to star alongside The Descendant’s Shailene Woodley in Greg Araki’s independent drama, White Bird.

White Bird looks like a pretty promising film, if the production and cast are any evidence. Araki is said to be producing with Rust and Bone’s Pascal Caucheteux and Sebastien Lamercier. Woodley will star in the film as a young troublemaker whose “life is upended following the disappearance of her mother.” Woodley’s mother will be played by Eva Green. Along with Woodley, Artist, and Green, Christopher Meloni, Angela Bassett, Shiloh Fernandez, Gabourey Sidibe, Mark Indelicato, and Dale Dickery will also join the film.

It is not yet known the size of the role Jacob Artist will have, but it is said that he will play Woodley’s love interest when she heads off to college.

Artist, the 20-year-old New York native who was reportedly “terrified” during his Glee audition is relatively new to the acting world. In 2011, the actor, dancer, and singer scored his first role as a guest star in TV show Bucket And Skinner’s Epic Adventures. Soon his guest appearances followed with How To Rock, Melissa & Joey, and Glee, the latter being a breakout role, as he’s seen on a weekly basis attending McKinley Hugh as the younger brother of Noah Puckerman.

Jacob Artist is currently repped by APA and David Dean Management.
