Caitlyn Jenner’s reality show I Am Cait may have been canceled, but she might be looking to get back on another reality show soon.
Jenner reportedly met with producers at Channel 5 in the U.K. recently to compete on Celebrity Big Brother, according to a report from the Daily Star. Producers are allegedly hoping to nab the 67-year-old reality star by offering a £1 million paycheck, which equates to over $1.3 million.
“The bookers are really keen to have Caitlyn in the house,” a source told the magazine. “They know she’d be TV gold so they’re prepared to break the bank for her.”
Jenner made headlines in 2015 after coming out as transgender, and has largely been in the media spotlight ever since. In addition to I Am Cait, which lasted two seasons on E!, she released a memoir called The Secrets of My Life.
“The world has been fascinated by Caitlyn’s story and getting her would push ratings through the roof,” the source continued.
The insider also stated that Ivana Trump, Hulk Hogan and Derek Acorah have been suggested as possible celebs to appear on Celebrity Big Brother this season as well.
Celebrity Big Brother has been a long-running reality show in the U.K. since 2001, and typically airs twice per year. The show features celebrities living in a house together for about a month, cut off from the outside world. Housemates nominate each other for eviction every few days, and the two with the most nominations are up for eviction, at which point the public decides to save or evict between the two of them.
Meanwhile, Gossip Cop is claiming that the $1.3 million offer to join Celebrity Big Brother is simply “not true,” according to her representative, adding that she’s not interested in doing the show. Jenner has not publicly commented either way on the rumors.
Rumors have spread that Jenner would be joining a reality show overseas for the past two years. The Sun speculated last year that Jenner might be heading into the Celebrity Big Brother house, a season after Kardashian family friend Jonathan Cheban competed on the show. The Sun also reported that I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! may have been interested in casting her, saying, “Kellie [Maloney] did brilliantly on Celebrity Big Brother and we think Cait will be must-see viewing in the Aussie bush. Plus we’d get some Kardashian goss.”
Jenner is currently on a promotional tour for The Secrets of My Life. The book features a number of revelations about her life before transitioning, when she was living as Bruce Jenner. She reveals that she wasn’t necessarily a good dad to Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian after marrying Kris.
“I had to do whatever it took to make them a part of my life. I needed to assert myself. But I could not. So I let go of them, which is a softer way of saying I abandoned them. Because I did abandon them,” she writes.
She also talks about how the Kardashian side of the family felt “slighted” to not be interviewed in her big coming-out special with Diane Sawyer.
“The Kardashian side feels slighted by their noticeable absence. They are right to feel slighted. They were slighted on purpose because of research showing that any time a Kardashian is on television, many in the public tend to think it is a publicity stunt to make money…. After all of the time it took to get here, I needed to make clear that this was real, this is my life and not some publicity stunt.”
The Secrets of My Life is currently available for purchase.
