‘Teen Mom OG’ Sneak Peek: Amber Portwood’s Fiance Says He Won’t Marry Her ‘Ever’ [Video]
Is Amber Portwood’s wedding being called off?
According to a sneak peek at next week’s new episode of Teen Mom OG, her fiance, Matt Baier, no longer wants to marry her.
On May 17, Starcasm shared a preview clip from the upcoming episode which was set at the Little White Chapel’s Tunnel of Love in Las Vegas.
“Bubby, would you be married if I got married in Vegas and then had a ceremony somewhere else?” Amber Portwood asks her brother, Shawn, in the sneak peek.
Unfortunately, Shawn isn’t on board and promptly tells his sister it would be “kinda not cool” if she was to marry Baier without their family present. Meanwhile, Baier can be scene standing near his fiancee and waiting to hear what her brother’s response will be.
Although Shawn tells Amber Portwood she’s a big girl, she grows concerned that he will be upset if she moves forward with a quick wedding in Sin City.
“At the end of the day, I’m not making your decisions for you. It’s not my life,” Shawn explains.
“Okay,” Amber Portwood responds. “That’s all I need to hear.”
Once Amber Portwood gets off the phone, Matt Baier asks her about her brother’s response. However, after Portwood begins to insinuate that Shawn and their entire family would be extremely upset if she were to elope, Baier quickly informs her that he heard what her brother had said.
Amber Portwood continues on, revealing she is unwilling to get married “like this.” She also tells her fiance that her family means a lot to her when it comes to “that stuff.”
“Okay, whatever,” he replies. “Lets not talk about it anymore then.”
Amber Portwood then accuses Matt Baier of making her feel bad but he doesn’t understand how and proceeds to bash her brother by telling Portwood that what he just did to her was “wrong.”
Amber Portwood is immediately offended by Baier’s comment and tells him not to talk about her brother like that on television.
Following their conversation, Matt Baier is seen talking to an MTV producer and shockingly reveals he is no longer willing to marry Amber Portwood.
“I will not marry her now. I will not marry her now, ever. And I will make that statement,” he confirms. “I’m not gonna let her brother dictate my life… That fu**ing fa**ot, no way. F*** her. She just humiliated me on TV. I’m done. Done.”
One month before the second half of the sixth season of Teen Mom OG premiered on MTV, Amber Portwood and Matt Baier spoke about their then-upcoming wedding, telling E! News they intended to get married this fall.
“This October,” Baier revealed to the outlet. “Ideally, Oct. 10 because that was the day we met in person for the first time.”
“I’m so proud of Amber’s business and, more importantly, how far she’s come as a person,” he continued. “When she sets her mind to something, she exceeds everyone’s expectations.”
Amber Portwood and Matt Baier also faced rumors of a split earlier this month after Baier allegedly failed a lie detector test. As Radar Online reported at the time, Amber Portwood reportedly chose to call off her engagement to Matt Baier after she discovered he was lying to her as they filmed for an upcoming season of their MTV show.
