Jana Duggar’s Rumored Boyfriend Denies Courting News On Instagram, Tim Tebow Back As Wedding Prospects Dim
Last week, rumors of Jana Duggar courting Jonathan Hartono, a long-time friend of the Duggars, emerged. When 19 Kids and Counting On fans noticed that Jonathan went bowling with Jim Bob Duggar, Jana’s father, they assumed that he was on track to become her boyfriend. But today, Jana’s alleged boyfriend clarified on Instagram that he is not courting her.
When the courting rumor got out of hand, Jonathan shut his Instagram down, which intensified the rumor that he may be dating Jana. However, when his account was open again to the public, Jill & Jessa Counting On fans saw that he is, in fact, not courting the 27-year-old Duggar.
Jana’s alleged boyfriend took the picture from his Snapchat, which hinted that he was on a one-on-one bowling date with her father. With the caption, he explained that he was not on a meeting with Jim Bob to ask Jana to enter a courtship with him, but rather was a friendly match as friends.
His followers quickly rose to react to this post, bringing up many salient points about how people get sucked into the media machine once they start hanging out with the Duggars.
“[W]as just a few minutes ago explaining to a friend how this works,” a follower commented. “Basically you just hang around the Duggars and before you know it, you end up in the rumor mill!”
Others commented by the clear statement that Jonathan made about how he is not courting Jana.
“‘No not courting Jana’ that actually made me lol that you had to put that as a caption,” an Instagram user using the handle kristaann_vt wrote.
Another commented that would not necessarily “be a bad thing,” considering how Jonathan Hartono gets along with the family well and how Jana is still single after watching four of her younger sisters get engaged.
Before he was touted as Jana’s boyfriend, Jonathan has been a close friend to the Duggars for years. Like all of them, he has a special interest in spending time with siblings and taking care of babies.
In fact, he was right by Josh and Anna Duggar when they welcomed their last baby girl into the world.
He seems particularly close to Jessa Duggar and her husband Ben Seewald, the couple and their kids frequenting his Instagram feed.
With yet another courting rumor quelled, Jana Duggar is back at her family duties. Most recently, she was seen leading her siblings in a video the family made for Michelle Duggar on Mother’s Day.
“We are so very thankful for the Godly mothers in our lives,” she wrote on family Facebook.
“Mom, we thank you for your love, your patience, your care and most importantly, your devotion to the Lord. You are an example of Him today and every day.”
In the Mother’s Day video, her sisters made sure to include their partners, to show how excited they are to be or to become mothers in the near future. Joy-Anna appeared with Austin Forsyth and Jessa had her husband Ben by her side.
Jana has expressed in the past just how hard it is to wait by the sidelines and witness her sisters get engaged, married, and start their own families.
“I know how it feels to wait for ‘Prince Charming’ to come along,” the 27-year-old Duggar said according to Radar Online.
“I’m still waiting. Waiting is not always easy. Especially in those times when all the married siblings are getting together and you can’t go along because you’re not part of ‘that’ group.”
A fan, knowing exactly what Jana is going through, mentioned the possibility of restarting a courtship with Tim Tebow, an American athlete who was once linked with the 19 Kids star.
“Lovely Jana, so nice to see you,” Ida Evelyn Brumback wrote.
“I really want your Dad to talk to Tim Tebow, a truly Godly man! You deserve to be happy and make your own beautiful babies!”
