Katy Perry Feels ‘Very Sexually Empowered’ As She Talks New Album, Hot Video, Taylor Swift Feud Rumors

Katy Perry isn’t going to let any rumors of bad blood between her and Taylor Swift stop her from completing the ultimate comeback with her new album, tour, and sexy video. With successes such as her racy new single and hints that she’ll become a judge on the American Idol reboot, Katy has been chatting about everything from sexual empowerment to how she really feels about those Taylor Swift feud rumors.

Perry just announced a new album and tour, with the American Idol reboot judge rumors adding to the excitement about her own revival. All the buzz means that Katy will be making the rounds of talks shows this week, noted the Los Angeles Times.

Fans can watch Perry visit Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show on Tuesday, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and Saturday Night Live this weekend. And the songstress has plenty to croon about, with her new album Witness set to be released on June 9. Katy will kick off her companion “Witness” tour of North America on September 7 in Columbus, Ohio.

Just in case an album and tour couldn’t satisfy her fans’ desires, Perry also is reportedly involved in “active talks” to become a judge on the American Idol reboot. Even though it’s not scheduled to air until next year, the American Idol revival is already generating positive buzz, with the possible addition of Katy adding to the excitement.

Perry has become known for her outfits, with everything from sexy pin-up styles to serving herself up on a platter. But now, in a Q & A this month, Katy is offering up some unexpected issues about her sexuality early in her career, noted Hollywood Life.

The 32-year-old answered some upbeat questions as well, sharing that her pet Kitty Perry is doing well, and revealing that although she hasn’t yet seen Selena Gomez’s new Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why, she “can’t wait to.” But Perry turned serious about the first part of her career.

“This is hard for me to say, but I feel like maybe I over-sexualized myself a little bit growing up and maybe in the first part of my career because it was one of the ways I got attention and I think that’s because of my past, stuff that had happened in my past,” explained Katy.

Now, however, Perry feels she has changed, describing the difference to her fans.

“And since I’ve been through my healing I don’t fear intimacy and I don’t see myself over-sexualizing myself, I feel very sexually empowered.”

And empowerment just might be the theme when it comes to Katy’s new video for her single “Bon Appétit,” which is overflowing with what Maxim described as “sexy food puns.” Amid the highlights of the video, Perry is shown surrounded by men in chef hats who appear to be kneading her body (you can view the NSFW video here).

“Got me spread like a buffet / Bon appétit, baby,” croons Katy.

Perry also turned to Twitter to invite fans to partake in what she’s calling a “challenge” based on her new single, reported Spin.

Promoting “Bon Appétit,” Katy posted a video in which she’s sprayed with water. Fans can follow her lead and thereby proclaim that they have completed the “#BonAppetitChallenge.” The songstress urged those trying to achieve the right look to “try and look sexy while you’re being hit with water somehow,” then went into more detail on her Instagram page.

“Pour some water over your face aka poor mans bucket challenge aka just look sexy while playing #BonAppetit”

While some fans are working on that unusual challenge, others are still speculating on whether Katy’s alleged feud with Taylor Swift is still in effect. And despite the fact that three years have passed since Swift released “Bad Blood,” Perry continues to receive direct questions about that song and the rumored feud, pointed out E! News.

In a recent interview, Katy dished on the question of whether she will respond to Taylor’s “Bad Blood.” The song allegedly was penned about Perry.

“I think [my new album is] a very empowered record,” said Katy before addressing the topic of Swift.

“One thing to note is: You can’t mistake kindness for weakness and don’t come for me. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone.”

However, with regard to Taylor, Perry emphasized that her comment was “not to any one person, and don’t quote me that it is, because it’s not.”

Moreover, while Katy is clear in stating that actions have consequences, she also talked about the subject of a more positive future.

“Honestly, when women come together and they decide to unite, this world is going to be a better place,” declared Perry. “Period end of story.”

And for those who still want to look at Katy’s new album and seek hints of her alleged feud with Swift, the songstress made it even more clear.

“This record is not about anyone else,” said Perry. “This record is about me being seen and heard so that I can see and hear everyone else.”

Katy also reflected that she believes “there’s a healing in it for me and vulnerability.” As for what she hopes her fans can learn from her new album, it’s a sense of healing and vulnerability as well.

“If people want to connect and be healed and feel vulnerable and feel empowered and strong, God bless, and here it is,” added Perry.
