Humble THQ Bundle Sales Reach 2 Million In Under A Day

The Humble THQ Bundle may be a bit of a departure from the team behind Humble Bundle’s usual offerings, but the partnership with THQ has proven to be a pretty big success.

Originally, Humble Bundle packages typically only included indie titles, not a selection of big-budget games from a major publisher. This lead some to wonder whether or not selections from major publishers might overshadow indie titles–but a representative of the site says no.

“When THQ expressed interest in our pay what you want plus charity model and willingness to let us bundle so many top tier titles, we couldn’t believe it at first,” a representative told Rock, Paper, Shotgun.

“But trying to turn up our noses at this epic chance to make gamers happy and help worthy causes like Child’s Play and the American Red Cross could only have been defined as arrogance. We had to try and we were extremely curious to see what would happen.”

As of writing, 467,077 gamers have purchased the Humble THQ Bundle to the tune of $2,666,611.81 with an average price of $5.71. The bundle includes Darksiders, Company of Heroes (including the Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor expansions), and Red Faction: Armageddon.

If you pay over the current average, you will also receive Saint’s Row: The Third.

“So far, it’s been pretty well received: we’re on record pace both in total sales and number of purchases,” the representative added.

“It looks like we’ve passed the two million dollar mark in just 16 hours. We are hopeful that this excitement is growing our community in a way that can only help our future promotions, and rest assured that indie bundles will continue to be an important part of our business.”
