New Pic Gives Sneak Peek at Rebecca Hall’s New Character In ‘Iron Man 3’
Tony Stark’s latest leading lady looks in need of rescue in a new still fromIron Man 3 .
According to NBC News, new pictures from the next installment in the Iron Man series were available Friday via Marvel.com. One of the stills gives Iron Man fans their first look at Rebecca Hall’s new character, Dr. Maya Hansen.
Hall is best known for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona. In the new still, Hall looks to have gotten banged up a bit, as she lies on the ground with a gash on her forehead.
According to Marvel lore, Hansen is a scientist and ex-lover of Robert Downey Jr.’s brilliant industrialist Tony Stark, aka Iron Man. It is Hansen who helps develop the Extremis virus, a nanotechnology serum that links Tony’s mind and body to his metal suit as part of the military’s long-held ambition to create a super-soldier.
To give fans a glimpse at the difficult challenge that lies ahead for our hero, Iron Man, another photo shows Iron Man’s mask with a big crack in it.
There is no doubt Iron Man will be put to the test by his arch-foe Mandarin, played by Ben Kingsley.
Don’t worry too much though, because Tony will once again receive a helping hand from good buddy Col. James “Rhodey” Rhodes (Don Cheadle). Cheadle will return to don the ever-popular War Machine costume once again. You see the two heroes together in another pic below.
Iron Man 3, directed by Shane Black, will hit theaters on May 3, 2013.
