Modern Day Bloody Face Identity Finally Revealed

Fans of the scary drama American Horror Story: Asylum already know who the crazy killer Bloody Face really is in the 1964 story line of the show (Dr. Thredson, how could you?!). But, who could be behind the Bloody Face mask when three men were gruesomely attacked in the present day Briarcliff?

According to TODAY, show creator Ryan Murphy made the big reveal by saying:

“Dylan (McDermott) is modern day Bloody Face. So the question is why is he the modern day Bloody Face? What is he doing? And that’s revealed in episode nine.”

American Horror Story: Asylum fans were given a hint about Bloody Face’s true identity when he called the police in episode six to admit to killing the three imposters. Bloody Face’s voice could be heard from the cell phone.

On Thursday, the actor posted a photo of himself as the killer on his WhoSay page:

Modern Day Bloddy Face

McDermott has yet to appear on the show this season, but he played philandering psychiatrist Ben Harmon in the first season of the show. There are no known plans yet for Nashville star Connie Britton, who played Ben’s wife Vivien, to return to the show. However, she says that she would love to come back if scheduling allows.

According to ScreenCrush, the mystery of Bloody Face is far from solved … even if we do know his identity. We have now apparently seen Bloody Face alive and well across two different timelines decades apart. Could there be a supernatural element to his villainy, or is the bloody moniker used by a number of different killers, as seen by the two copycats?

American Horror Story: Asylum airs at 10 pm Wednesdays on FX.
