Kelsey Grammer Defends No Carseat Pics Of Baby Faith

Kelsey Grammer has some grown kids and a new baby with new woman Kayte Walsh. And as parents of older kids know, the “rules” about stuff like carseats seems to change faster than you can say “rear-facing double-tethered safety restraints with an interlocking harness.”

Kelsey Grammer’s first child was born in the early 80s, and, now with new baby Faith, times and rules have changed, which may be why paparazzi lenses caught the Frasier star and Walsh driving off with the sprog in a lap instead of secured in a carseat, a major no-no in the parenting world today.

Sure, Kelsey Grammer’s car seat flub probably happens every day for non-famous people, but, when you’re in the public eye, your every parenting oversight becomes news.

And after the shots of the couple leaving the airport without properly securing the baby in her seat circulated, many criticized the pair for being Bad Parents.

TMZ spoke with a rep for Kelsey Grammer after the couple were lambasted for not using a car seat, and the site says that the baby didn’t leave the airport unsecured, Grammer’s camp claims:

“Grammer’s rep tells TMZ … at some point, before the family left the airport grounds, Kelsey loaded up a car seat and strapped baby Faith inside before they hit L.A. city streets.”

But it doesn’t sound like the gossip site is buying the tale, allowing for plausible deniability from Kelsey Grammer’s flak while still maintaining it did not appear, at the time the footage was gathered, that a car seat was ready for Faith’s adorable little baby butt to enter it:

“Since the footage we posted earlier appears to show Kayte and the baby inside the vehicle WITHOUT a car seat, the rep may be insinuating that the car circled around the airport and picked up Kelsey, who eventually retrieved a car seat. It does appear … after Kayte and the baby drove off, Kelsey went down to baggage claim and picked up the luggage that was checked.”

Do you think Kelsey Grammer can be forgiven for doing what not famous parents shouldn’t do but sometimes do out of the prying view of paparazzi lenses?
