Wrestling fans can watch the 2016 WWE Clash of Champions live online and see who wins the big clash between Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins or whether surprise guest wrestler Goldberg will actually show up.
The action for the fall's first WWE pay-per-view special starts on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET. It will be the first Raw-branded pay-per-view event since the 2016 WWE Draft this summer, so only the Raw roster will be competing.
It wouldn't be a WWE pay-per-view event without rampant rumors about potential twists or special guests, and What Culture noted that the WWE might have some big things planned to boost its sagging Raw product.
"As is always the case in the lead-up to a PPV, the rumor mill has been running wild. While some of Clash's match-ups suffer from short builds, the dirtsheets have been ablaze with rumors of big shake-ups on Sunday night, and understandably so," the report noted. "Raw's ratings are stuck in the mire, and it's looking increasingly likely that WWE will make several big, bold, and brave moves to revitalize the product at Clash."
One of those big twists could be an appearance from Goldberg, which has been one of the most persistent rumors. There could also be a big reunion for Shield, with talk behind the scenes that Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose could come together again.
But with Ambrose on SmackDown, it's not very likely that the Raw-rostered Clash of Champions is where it will happen. That could mean fans are left waiting for Survivor Series or Royal Rumble to see the trio back together.
SE Scoops dug a bit deeper into the rumors, noting that the WWE has been keeping the Shield members apart, likely to build anticipation for an eventual reunion.
"Aside from a few limited interactions, WWE has kept former Shield members – as a trio – apart or at odds since they broke up over two years ago. Back in June, The Shield briefly reunited on the Ambrose Asylum to promote Reigns' WWE World Heavyweight Championship defense against Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank. At the PPV, Ambrose won the Money in the Bank ladder match, Rollins defeated Reigns for the belt, Ambrose cashed in and defeated Rollins, leading all three former Shield members to hold the championship on the same night. WWE later pulled the trigger on the coveted Shield triple threat match at July's Battleground PPV, but all three men being on the same page has been for the most part protected."So, how will fans be able to watch WWE Clash of Champions live online? The opportunity to watch streaming video of Sunday's pay-per-view event for free comes thanks to the WWE's dogged promotion of its digital arm, the WWE Network. Since launching the WWE network in 2014, the company has done all they can to get new subscribers, including teasing the ability to watch some of the biggest events for free. That means a one-month free trial for new subscribers, one that will allow them to watch WWE Clash of Champions for free. Building the WWE Network is a big boost to the company's bottom line, so the more subscribers the better.
