Naked Protesters Storm Into John Boehner’s Office [Video]
John Boehner had an interesting day today. The House Speaker was at his Washington Office today when at least 7 naked protesters stormed into the room.
A number of reporters were at the scene and reported the incident via Twitter. BuzzFeed reporter Chris Geidner reported that the naked protesters were demonstrating against budget cuts that would limit funds for AIDS research. Despite the seriousness of the issue the protesters had a humorous message.
They chanted: “Boehner, Boehner, don’t be a dick. Budget cuts will make us sick.”
Sahil Kapur of Talking Points Memo was also in the room.
Kapur wrote on Twitter: “7 nude people protesting budget cuts in Boehner’s office right now, screaming and chanting. Surreal … Protesters say they’re fighting over $1.2 billion in cuts to HIV/AIDS funding under sequestration.”
Kapur reported that some of the protesters put their clothes back on once police arrived while others were taken away in handcuffs. At least three of the women protesting were arrested for indecent exposure.
