Braylon Edwards traded to the Jets

We may be seeing the creation of a very disturbing trend in professional sports. When a stir player for a team in a given town decides he wants to be traded all he needs to do is punch the friend of another star player from the town in a different sport in the face and they shall be granted their trade. Two days after allegedly punching a friend of Lebron James in the face, Braylon Edwards has been traded to the New York Jets.

Before we go any further let us take a look at the details of this trade. The Jets get Edwards who will become their number one receiver. The Browns get a conditional third round pick, 5th round pick, WR Chansi Stuckey, and LB Jason Trusnik.

This is a very risky move for the Jets. While Edwards, at times, has shown flashes of being a number one receiver in this league at other times he has been known to drop the ball. Ok let’s be fair he drops a lot of balls that he shouldn’t, but maybe a change of scenery may be what Edwards needs at this point.

However it seems Edwards has gotten the best of this deal. He goes from the 0-4 Cleveland Browns to the 3-1 New York Jets. While the Browns are headed to a top ten draft pick, it looks like the Jets are headed towards the playoffs. Edwards might be the piece they need to make a remarkable run at the post season.
