Jennifer Lawrence Tells Ellen: My Mom Stole My Oscar Ballot

Jennifer Lawrence wants everyone to know that her mom stole her Oscar ballot and attempted to vote on her behalf.

Lawrence appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday where she opened up about her mom’s playful theft.

The 22-year-old actress says her mom actually filled out her ballot and sent it in; however, she filled out the return information incorrectly, and the ballot was ultimately returned to the actress’ home.

When Ellen asked the Silver Linings Playbook star if she agreed with her mom’s Oscar picks, Lawrence laughed and simple stated:

“No, I didn’t.”

Perhaps now we know why some surprising Oscar wins have been chosen in the past. Apparently anyone living with a famous actor or actress can grab their ballot and cast a vote.

Lawrence revealed that the “voting fraud” happened just after she was accepted into the Academy.

Jennifer admits that her biggest fear at the time was that the Academy would find out about her mom’s vote and kick her out.

Everything worked out in the end, and here’s Jennifer Lawrence recalling the event to Ellen DeGeneres:
