Amy Poehler dropped by The Late Show with David Letterman to do some promotional duties for Parks and Recreation, with things getting a little awkward… then steamy… then awkward again with the host.
During the sit-down, Poehler related a humorous tale about her 4-year-old son Archie:
“Archie is turning into such a compassionate boy. He’s a lovely and kind kid. The other day, he came up to me while I was getting changed and he put his hands on my shoulders and said ‘Mom, I’m so sorry you don’t have a penis.’ Isn’t that nice? Then, he paused and said, ‘But did you have one and break it?’ I thought it was his way of finding out, if I was to have one, would I take care of it.”
Then, Letterman moved in a bit closer to introduce a Parks and Recreation clip, and the newly-single Poehler quipped “Oh, I thought you were going to go in for a kiss,” the comic actress remarked.”
Without missing a beat, Letterman moved in, grabbed her by the arm, and planted one on her. After the pleasantries and thank-you’s were exchanged, Letterman jabbed: “Tell that to your little buddies back there at NBC.”
This dig has been brought to you by Jay Leno.
