NFL Coaches on the hot seat

Three weeks into the 2009 NFL season we can start to see, and in some cases guess at which NFL Head Coaches are on the hot seat. At this point in the season there are seven teams who have yet to win a game, and there are four more that have only won win. Some of these teams are bad, and were expected to be bad, some are struggling through Head Coach changes in the off season, and some are just underperforming. With that said here are the three coaches whose jobs are most in jeopardy.

Jim Zorn Head Coach of the Washington Redskins became the first coach to lose to the Detroit Lions in 19 tries, that fact alone seems to show that Zorn may soon lose his job. Let us not forget he is the employee of the worst NFL owner Daniel Snyder. Snyder is known for switching coaches whenever he feels fit, and spending big money on flop free agents. With that being said the Redskins are just awful. After starting the 2008 season 6-2 they are 3-8 since then. That is not good enough and Zorn most likely will become the first NFL Head Coach fired in the 2009 season.

John Fox and the Carolina Panthers are struggling, after winning their division they are off to a 0-3 start, and it is that time for Fox to bench starting QB Jake Delhomme. If he does so, he may just save his job. If he fails to do so then most likely the Panthers will continue to lose, and Fox will get himself fired. Remember Bill Cowher is from the North Carolina area, and could be looking.

While it may not be fair to put first year Cleveland Browns, Head man Eric Mangini into this list, the fact is the Browns are a mess. It does not appear that Mangini’s heavy handed, approach to his players is what the Browns need at this point. There are far too many rumors coming from this locker room for Mangini to feel secure in his job.
