Panic time for the Carolina Panthers

It is, time to press the panic button for the Carolina Panthers. After winning their division a year ago, they have now started the 2009 season 0-3. On Monday Night Football they turned in a pathetic performance against the Dallas Cowboys. The main problem for this team is Jake Delhomme has lost his grip, and needs to be benched. However the problems for this team are far deeper than that.

First of all this team was built to run the ball, and run the ball well. On Monday night versus the Cowboys they managed only 73 yards on the ground. For a team with a struggling Quarter Back this is a team that must turn to the running game to help right its woes.

Now of course the big problem for this team is the play of QB Delhomme. In his last four NFL games, going back to the 2009 playoffs, he has thrown 12 interceptions. This is a QB that cannot get over that loss in last’s year playoffs and the time for a change has now come. In 2009 he has thrown just two TD’s to 7 interceptions. The bigger problem for the Panthers is they don’t have an adequate backup to come in and help out.

Their back up QB’s are Matt Moore and AJ Feely, neither one of these men is probably capable of coming in and helping to right the Panthers ship. That hole in their roster is the fault of the front office, and Panther fans should remember just that.
