Should the Browns just get rid of the QB position?

Things are not good for the Cleveland Browns. With one of the most hapless offenses in the NFL, they had a date yesterday with the great defense, and superb offense of the Baltimore Ravens. While they had a very real chance of going 0-3 anyway, the shockingly bad play of both of their Quarter Backs may lead this team to a 0-16 season. While that prediction may be a little premature, this is a very bad football team, which has a very serious problem.

Let us start with the play of starting QB Brady Quinn. Quinn has not exactly let the league on fire since being awarded this job during the pre-season. In three starts this year he has thrown for 400 yards and one touchdown, with a QB rating of 62.9. Yesterday versus the Ravens he was 6-8 for 34 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. With nothing to lose Head Coach Eric Mangini sat Quinn for the second half for back up QB Derek Anderson.

Anderson then went out and turned in an 11 for 19, for 92 yards and three interception stinker of a performance. Anderson was also sacked on a rare Browns play inside the Red Zone. The performance was so bad many Browns fans are wondering what the team should do now?

The most productive offense set, so far in the 2009 season, has been the Flash set. Flash is the Browns version of the wild cat and it has third string QB and kick returner Josh Cribbs taking the snaps from center. While Cribbs isn’t qualified to throw the ball to receivers like Braylon Edwards, neither are the other two Browns QB’s.
