Lydia McLaughlin Returning To ‘RHOC’? Speculation Is Flying As Filming Starts

Lydia McLaughlin announced a few years ago that she was done filming The Real Housewives of Orange County after just one season. When McLaughlin, her husband, and two children joined the show, she joined with the premise that she was a religious woman and wanted to behave well. However, Lydia quickly realized that some of the ladies were being dirty and she was shocked to hear how some of the ladies were behaving. McLaughlin later wrote a book about her time on the show and how it was in God’s plan for her to walk away.

According to a new tweet, Lydia McLaughlin is now being rumored to join the show once again. Lydia only filmed one season, but she made quite the impression on viewers because she was quiet, sweet and innocent. She was a complete contrast to some of the other wives and after the Brooks Ayers cancer scandal and the drama in Ireland, bringing back McLaughlin may be a wise choice now that Heather Dubrow and Meghan King Edmonds are out.

A Twitter account using the name “RealHousewives101” is now claiming to have the inside scoop on this upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Orange County. As the show is about to start filming after being on hiatus for a few months, it sounds like producers have managed to bring an old housewife back to the show.

“Tamra, Shannon & Vicki are all in. Kelly is still negotiating. Meghan was offered a “friend” role but just declined. Heather is out #RHOC,” the Twitter user revealed, claiming to have the inside scoop about the current casting for The Real Housewives of Orange County, adding later, “I can now confirm, former housewife Lydia McLaughlin is signing on for season 12… #RHOC.”

Of course, many viewers had hoped that someone from a previous season would return and many people felt that Gretchen Rossi would be the ideal fit. However, Gretchen may not be ready to come back on the show. Instead, this Twitter user claims that Lydia McLaughlin is coming back.

“They had been looking at several former housewives and the decision for Lydia was made. She is in the process of signing on,” the user revealed on Twitter, writing to one other user about Lynne Curtin, “I love Lynne!!! Don’t think she’s loving the OC lifestyle they would need to rehire her, would love her as a “friend of”.”

Of course, McLaughlin may be open to returning to the show after having a third child. She left the show, saying that she wanted to focus on her family and have another child. Within a few months, Lydia and her husband Doug announced they were pregnant with a third child. Lydia McLaughlin has since given birth to Roman, and she often shares pictures of her three children on social media.

After leaving The Real Housewives of Orange County after season 8, Lydia McLaughlin wrote a book called Beyond Orange County: A Housewives Guide to Faith and Happiness. In this book, Lydia opened up about why she decided to leave the show behind even though producers tried to get her to come back for the show’s ninth season. During the season eight reunion special, McLaughlin walked off the set, and she was clearly upset about what was being said, according to E! Online.

“When I was asked back to do season 9, I wanted to do it. Being on the show was everything the world tells us to desire and it was what I desired,” Lydia McLaughlin explained in her book, according to E! Online, adding, “But deep, deep down—so quiet I could almost silence it—I knew in my heart it was not God’s plan for me to go back.”

“I knew God was calling me to walk away from the show,” Lydia McLaughlin added her book about how her faith guided her away from The Real Housewives of Orange County.
