Brad Pitt Rehab Rumors: Forced Alcohol And Drug Treatment Addressed [Debunked]

Brad Pitt’s rehab rumors were making the rounds this week, after both the National Enquirer and Radar Online alleged that the 53-year-old actor, who is currently in a divorce battle with Angelina Jolie, was forced into an expensive drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. However, Entertainment Tonight spoke to a source close to Brad Pitt, who had some harsh words regarding this rumor, while also addressing reports regarding Angelina’s alleged child support demands.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are in the midst of a very public divorce feud, with their young children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne stuck right in the middle. Angelina filed for divorce back in September 2016, with an alleged “smear campaign” soon making headlines. Brad was accused of being abusive, having anger issues, and, allegedly, a drinking problem. At the center of this feud between Brad and Angelina stands the custody battle over their children.

The rumors regarding Brad Pitt’s rehab were published yesterday. Citing a “bombshell investigation,” the National Enquirer (followed by Radar Online) claimed Brad recently spent $15,000 on a sober retreat in a private suite inside Casa Del Mar, a resort in Santa Monica, California, where he allegedly attended a “Narcotics Anonymous” group party, called “Sexy Sober Sunday”.

“Brad’s benefitted from the principles and rules that come with dedicated sobriety, and he’s found a way to celebrate it, too. His friends have been key in helping him see the positives from clean living, which is why they arranged this sober divorce party!”

Following these reports, Entertainment Tonight quickly debunked Brad Pitt’s rehab story by speaking to a source close to the star, who denied the rumors categorically.

“Brad did not go to rehab,” the source said, and added, “Cannot for the life of me understand what they mean by ‘bombshell’ investigation.”

The rumors were also debunked on Gossip Cop, who had their own source also claiming that Brad Pitt’s rehab story is “totally bogus.” According to their source, Brad is both healthy and sober.

The source who spoke to Entertainment Weekly also addressed another Brad Pitt rumor published yesterday by InTouch, which cited an insider who claimed Angelina Jolie is asking for $100,000 a month in child support. According to InTouch, Brad wants the money to stay in a trust, and not let Angelina have control over it.

“Angie wants the divorce finalized within the next 90 days, including custody and property settlements. But with everything she’s asking for, it’s unlikely that will happen. She’s making ridiculous financial demands.”

However, just as with the claims regarding Brad Pitt’s rehab, the source who spoke to Entertainment Weekly is denying the child support demands as well, saying that Brad’s team is not aware of such demands, while stating that the team has a strict policy of not speaking about Brad and Angelina’s children.

“[Brad’s team] is strictly following the privacy agreement between the two of them. [Brad’s team] has never spoken about the kids and won’t be starting now.”

The “privacy agreement” refers to a joint statement released by Brad and Angelina last month, amidst their heated custody battle, in which the couple promised to maintain the privacy of their legal battle, for the sake of their children.

“The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues.

The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification”

Despite this statement and the couple’s efforts to maintain their privacy, details from their court battle keep emerging – which is expected, when you have such a high profile in Hollywood. But according to the source close to Brad, we can at least put the forced Brad Pitt rehab rumors to rest.
