Jon Stewart Sounds Off On Karl Rove, Fox News Election Night Awkwardness [Video]

You had to expect it. Last night’s The Daily Show saw host Jon Stewart reacting to Karl Rove and general Election Night awkwardness over at Fox News.

Rove’s reputation is on the rocks after he defiantly contested the Fox News Election Night projection that President Obama would be re-elected. After polling data from Ohio came in, Fox hosts Bret Baier and Megyn Kelly projected that President Obama had won a second term. Rove awkwardly and forcefully denied the projection, saying that all of the votes still had to be counted.

Rove’s stance forced Kelly down to the network’s “decision desk” where the experts there admitted that there aren’t enough votes left for Mitt Romney to take Ohio. Furthermore, Obama had taken key states that would prevent Romney from the presidency anyway.

Stewart poked fun at the awkward scene on The Daily Show last night, particularly Rove’s meltdown in the face of his co-hosts who were happy enough to make a confident call in the election results. Kelly even pointedly asked Rove if his math was something he “does as a Republican to make himself feel better, or is this real?”

“By the way — ‘Math You Do As A Republican To Make Yourself Feel Better’ is a much better slogan for Fox than the one they have now,” Stewart said.

Stewart then targeted media sparring partner Bill O’Reilly, saying, “What an incredible story to tell yourselves. We would’ve won, if it weren’t for the moral failings of the non-real America.”
